Arbing and trading talk / Re: Arbing/sportsbetting TAX Free Countries
« on: January 19, 2018, 03:56:46 PM »
Personal gambling winnings, whether its pure luck, skill (poker etc) or arbing is completely tax free in the UK.  Where is becomes taxable and a possible issue is if you are betting on different peoples accounts, whatever Yorkloss seems to think lol

If HMRC decide to investigate you for tax evasion be prepared for them to want to see EVERYTHING!

There is no tax to pay on betting/gambling/arbing in the UK.

But if you are using other peoples accounts then its a grey area.  Because it could then be classed as operating a business, is illegal as its classed as fraud in the UK, and you could also be seen to be operating a bookmaker without a licence as well which is illegal, and obviously its against bookies t&cs.

Having been self employed all I can say is keep records of every bet you place, because if HMRC decide to investigate you and they think you are not declaring earnings to them, then expect hell and you will need to prove all your arbing profits with evidence.  And if it involves transfers to and from other people you could well be in real trouble.

Another dodgy company to avoid at all costs then, exchange bets, especially inplay, should NEVER be cancelled.

These questions are like a driver asking what does a green traffic light mean, seriously.

@OP
The number within ( ) means how many of the listed bookies that particular odd is able to make an arb with. As a rule of thumb the higher number the better. You can ignore that number or use it as valuable information depending on your strategy and experience/skill.

You dont even know what you are talking about, what is this cr@p you've written, total nonsense lol

I would advise everyone to set up 2 factor authorisation.  Easy to do and prevents unauthorised access to your account.

Im sure im just totally ignorant, but with the high spreads involved, and possible time delays in executing trades, coupled with transaction fees etc  this seems really risky and difficult to do?

What I do is write a really nice hand written letter to the head trader, enclosing a nice bottle of whiskey.  Always works

I think its 15000 per quarter you need to send to merchants, not 50000.  And yes that retains your silver level for another 3 months.

OP no disrespect but are you insane.

I think he means "Bet hard"  as in open up an account in a friends name and max bet until limited.

I woulld say be very careful you dont get caught as its not nice having £10k or £20k convisgated by a bookie lol

If you all registered around the same time, and made similar bets on similar games it wouldnt take a rocket scientist to link you all together.
