« on: February 12, 2013, 06:23:03 AM »

Does anyone know if Canbet still has that tricky bonus-conditions, that payout is only possible if you are loosing, etc.???
Last time I got the feeling I must be a lawyer to understand their conditions (was around 6month ago)

About month ago, a friend of mine took a bonus there and then asked for a withdrawal.
They told him:

''Your Canbet account has since been reviewed by our investigation team. Following that investigation I draw your attention to the Canbet T&C’s below.

Canbet has further raised the T&C of this promotion to IBAS and is awaiting adjudication relating to this matter.''

''IBAS has this information and is currently reviewing the matter, we expect to hear further from IBAS mid next week, Canbet management will accept the IBAS adjudication relating to this matter.''

Finally they paid him...

I opened an account with canbet recently. They sent me a email today offering 100% deposit match up to £500. I thought that's a bit generous until I read all the terms and conditions. It's so complicated it's ridiculous.

2. Bonus Requirements
2.1   Bonus, and Cash Balances
2.11   A player's Sportsbook balance is divided into a "Cash Balance", and a "Bonus Balance".
2.1.2   Any deposits made by players shall be credited to the player's Cash Balance. Subject to the provisions in clause 6, your Cash Balance may be withdrawn at any time.
2.1.3   Unless otherwise stated, all bonuses, credits, rebates, and prizes shall be credited into a player's Bonus Balance, and shall be subject to the following rules:
2.1.3.1   All winnings from bets placed using funds from the Cash Balance will be added to the Cash Balance.
2.1.3.2   All winnings from bets placed using funds from the Bonus Balance will be credited back to the Bonus Balance up to the value of the original bonus amount, less any movements from the Bonus Balance to the Cash Balance. Any excess winnings will be credited to the Cash Balance.
2.1.3.3   Your Bonus Balance may not be withdrawn from your account.
2.2   Converting of Bonus Balance into Cash Balance
2.2.1    Unless otherwise stated, bonus amounts credited to a player's Bonus Balance are subject to six (x6) times turnover requirements, before they will be transferred into the Cash Balance, where they may be withdrawn.
2.2.2    For any bet made, the bet is placed from a player's Cash Balance first. If there is no Cash Balance available, then the bet is placed from the player's Bonus Balance. This effectively means that credits in the player's Bonus Balance are only played if there is no Cash Balance.
2.2.3    As a player meets the turnover (wagering) requirements of the promotional bonus issued, the bonus balance is decreased in increments of 10 and added to the Cash Balance.
2.3   Forfeit of Bonus Balance
2.3.1   In the event that a player makes a withdrawal at any time, the Bonus Balance shall be reset to zero. This means that if you withdraw any portion of your Cash Balance and you still have a Bonus Balance, your remaining Bonus Balance shall be forfeited.
2.3.2   Should a player make any transfer to another product (i.e. Casino or Poker), any Bonus Balance remaining in the account shall be forfeited.
2.3.3   If a player does not want a bonus that has been credited into their account, then the player is entitled to request a reversal of such bonus from Customer Service, by means of E-mail, Live Chat or telephonic correspondence. If any bets have been placed using any part of the bonus, the bonus cannot be removed from the account (either by means of a withdrawal or a request to Customer Service) until the full turnover (wagering) requirements for the bonus have been met.
2.3.4   Bonuses that have not been converted into the Cash Balance within 90 days of being issued shall be forfeited.

I feel so lucky that I lost my opening deposit and opening bonus of £150 as I didn't read the standard canbet terms and conditions when I joined and still don't fully understand it. I probably would have trapped my money there.

Very shady bonus terms and conditions. I'll be staying away from them.

It sounds more complicated than it is. I took that bonus. The difficult part  was you couldn't bet on AH and the odds were generally worse than SBO.

Hello qbet.

The bonus is only valid on your next deposit at Canbet.com between Thursday 5th September and Midnight Monday 9th September 2013. The promotional code for this offer is 100SEP05.
Qualifying deposits must be a minimum of £100/€125/$200.
The maximum claim for this bonus is £500(€550/$750).
To receive the bonus you must turn over (bet through) your qualifying deposit once in full (x1), and the bets must be settled within 30 days of depositing.
All qualifying deposit and bonus turnover requirements must be placed at odds of 1.75 or greater. Bets placed on Asian handicap, Multiple and In-Play do not count toward turnover requirements. Canbet reserves the right to manually withdraw bonus profits from accounts, accrued from bonus bets placed on these markets. Any bonus stakes and returns placed on these markets will be deemed void.
After the bonus is credited and prior to withdrawal, the qualifying deposit and bonus amounts must be turned over (bet through) a further 5 times in full (x5), and the events have been settled. The turnover requirements must be met within 60 days of the bonus being issued. If the bonus turnover requirements are not met within this period, the bonus and any bonus winnings accrued will be removed from your account.

You have to bet the deposit of £500 x1 then you're given £500 bonus and then you have to bet £1000 x5.

What does it mean the bonus is only reduced by increments of 10?

I don't understand it lol.

I was thinking it would be some sort of scam because Canbet is rated low on SBR and on bookmakersreview.com, I take it it's not.

Just researched Canbet bonus on google and came across this thread on SBR. The bonus is how I imagined it and it is a scam.

From what I recall first you have to turn over the deposit once first before the bonus is credited. So overall you have to bet  £5500.
There is one balance really but if you go "to my account" you balance is divided to real money and bonus money. Bonus money is always £500 so whenever you total balance is less than £500 real money becomes negative! If you manage to complete rollover then bonus money becomes real money. In my case  I managed to turn over 4000 and then lost. At the point my real money was at -500 and bonus was still 500. It's a bit odd to have a negative balance but I think it means that no winnings are tied to the bonus so if you fail to meet ror you can at least withdraw any balance over 500. At least this is how  I understand it.

I had a look at the offer I received back in June and the terms were like the second list of terms you just posted.

The first set of terms you posted is indeed very bizarre and looks like the SBR case. Even so it seems to me it might still worth getting it.

Let's say that after you received the bonus you bet your whole balance (bonus+real money). You only really risk your real funds but if you win all bonus winnings become real money, since the bonus balance cannot exceed 500. Then you can just withdraw and forfeit the bonus! What do you think of this strategy?

The first set of terms and conditions are standard canbet terms and conditions which I assume apply to all deposit bonuses. The 2nd list came with the offer.

If you use any of the bonus you can't withdraw until you have completed the rollover. It's completely dodgy.

Not so much an outright scam then it is a marketing ploy to suck in the unsophisticated barely literate punters who drop beaucoup bucks on stupid parlays and Super Heinz bets. In other words the folks that make the bread and butter of sports arbitrage and value betting possible.

You're right there lansky it's not a complete scam but I would say it's totally unethical and the offer is hiding behind complicated and vague terms and conditions which make it near impossible to get your hands on the bonus money.

I will actually call them a scam for it and it's wasted my whole day figuring it out, better go do some work now.

qbet I think you got lucky as you lost at canbet and won elsewhere.

It's not a scam and it is possable to make the rollover it just takes a while :-\
Have a look at the DNB odds sometimes these are beter than SBO.
If you have a big bankroll it can be worthwhile to take the bonus but if you win there you can tie up your money for a while.

You can only use the bonus balance if the cash balance is zero. What if you keep winning and end up with a 10k+ cash balance would it not be impossible to rollover the bonus balance then?

Is DNB not equal to asian handicap (0) and so does not count towards rollover?
