Just wondering what arbuser members thoughts are regarding placing arbitrage bets and not matching them? Does anyone incorporate this into their betting/arbing strategies?

I would imagine it is most +EV to not hedge your bets, providing you place your bets on the 'soft' side of the arb, and have the bankroll to cover losses.

Unless you have a sizable bankroll it is incorrect to place very large bets. An arber doesn't have this problem.
In my view the correct strategy is often a mixture of both. For example if according to your model 300 is the max you should bet on the soft side, without hedging, but the soft books allows you to bet as much as 1000 betting only 300 means you are leaving money on the table. Betting more and hedging the part of your bet that exceeds the value bet is definitely a better strategy .
