Value betting questions
« on: February 13, 2014, 10:33:12 AM »

I think of starting value betting but i have some questions
1.Which bookies gives the truest odd:pinnacle.sbobet, betfair?
In my opinion betfair.
2.How much % should be the minimum arb so you can take the valubet?
In my opinion 3% maybe 4%
3.How should you adjust the stakes ?

1. Iam taking best odds from that 3 bookmakers and than calculating value of odds
2. If you have for example over/under line 1.92/1.92 and you can get odds 2.1 its low surebet but very good value..
3. personally iam using flat stakes. It doesnt matter what stake you place becuase in long run you will get profit 5-10% from your stake, but if you have small bankroll you should look for some advices how to use your bank

Good luck, and keep on mind that some loses can happen but later profit will come :)

1. It's Pinnacle of course. It's a fact, it's an universal answer. I may doubt law of gravity but not Pinnacle Lean. Good idea to consider asians too but only in soccer market.
2. This question has a subjective answer. Many arbers and value hunter probably will answer %2 or %3. My opinion is %3.
3. I'm a strong believer in flat staking but not in value betting. You must risk slightly less on lower odds since your chance to win is higher. You can't bet same stake on 1,50 and 2,20.

Finally, don't make value betting in tennis, lol.
Soccer and Basket okay, specially US Sports. GL!

1.Pinnacle for any sport +asians in soccer
2.This depends on how much variance you can tolerate, the lower the % the more swings you will have. Even a 0% arb will have 2.5-3% yield, i personally go for 1.5%.
3.Using "to win amount" is the optimal strategy. I usually cover it on very low odds, so that i don't risk too much.

For me,

1) Pinnacle is the best of course but also betfair, SBO or IBC to discover values in different markets not covered by Pinny
2) 1% is already a shot for me
3) Flat small stake and place the biggest amount of value bets that you can. I shoot everything between 1.25 and 10 when is a value, of course

I'm doing this for months and my ROI is 19%

good luck value bettors

Probably you know it but wanted to say anyway. Don't consider Pinnacle Lean in low-volume markets. Pinnacle lean is not very efficient in these kind of leagues. GL!

Definitely Pinnacle. Their overround is so small (2-3%) that they would go out of business if they didn't keep their prices in line. Betfair will give accurate odds but only for major events happening soon, otherwise the liquidity is too poor to make a proper judgement. I have no idea about SBObet.

The real value here is Under 2.5 @ 2.28 - Pinnacle  ;)

As I said, Pinnacle LEan is not very effective in low-volume markets but except CHINA league. Both soccer and basket. I rarely remember a lose in these leagues.

In football is easy identify value, but how to identify value in other sports and with odds where sharp bookies are not involved (couting also Betfair)? For example Tennis Challengers:
Player A odd 3.2 bwin
Player B odd 1.6 unibet

How can i know who have correct odds?

Actually you answered the question yourself. You can't have a clear indication where is the value (if any) at sports without major liquidity. You need major sports to have a clear view, for example take pinnacle if you see a sport with lower than let's say 1000 (maybe less in some cases) limit per bet the odds are not that sharp to show you the "true" odds and you should ignore any "value" odd you see for betting purposes.

For Tennis Challengers in my opinion the truest value is bet365 and after that unibet.
