Unfolding Asian Handicaps

Thu Aug 21, 2014 11:01 am

Hello,

It is AH+1 = Half Stake @ AH+0.75 + Half Stake @ AH+1.25 ?

Where can I read more regarding different Asian Handicap combinations?

I see lots of inefficiencies on asian handicap markets far below the equilibrium. E.g. it's usual to see AH+1.5 with same odds as AH+1.25

Just google it. There is lots of info.

And no you got it wrong.

AH+1 is +1 and that is it
+0.75 is half on 0.5 and half on 1
+0.25 is half on 0 and half on 0.5
etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. But I guess didn't explain well my question.

My doubt was, how can we make a "synthetic" AH+1  when we only have AH+0.75 and AH+1.25 available, or we suspect the AH+1 odd is not attractive.

After doing some math, I think found the solution.
Considering we have
Odds1 = AH+0.75 odds

where we originally wanted to bet:
OddsT = AH+1 odds
StakeT = Total Stake we wanted to bet on AH+1

We just need to:
First: Bet  StakeT/Odds1 on AH+0.75
Second: Bet StakeT-StakeT/Odds1 on AH+1.25

Take as an example tonights match: Lokeren (Bel) - Hull City (Eng)

You have AH+0.75 with odd 1.45
You have AH+1.25 with odd 1.22
(AH+1 quotes on a horrible 1.26 odds)

Imagine you wanted to bet 100€ on AH+1.

All you have to do is to bet:
1-  100/1.45 on AH+0.75
2- 100-100/1.45 on AH+1.25

It makes sense now?

You use the same formula as for AH1(0.0) / AH2(+0.5) / AH2(-0.5). You can find it in most calculators.

What calculator are you using? Which one do you recommend?

Thank you
