Hi guys,
I have a local bookie from recently and just saw odds on this bet. I believe that they are in wrong for one of the sides.
I tried to compare it with on-line odds but couldnt find it. Although, since Im still at work I didnt have time for any serious research so I would be grateful if anyone knows percentages of 1st vs 2nd half time regarding scoring in NBA.
What would be fair price for 1st or 2nd half time!?

It depends on game. Some teams score more points in 1st half, some score more in 2nd.

Re: Half with more points - NBA
It is generally regarded that second halves will be higher scoring. This is due to the foul game at the end, as well as timeouts etc. This is especially true in close games/games with low handicaps.

Few years ago, most teams were "more points scoring in 1st half" type. Nowadays, teams who score more points in 2nd half are very common such as Pacers (not dramatical like last season but still), Jazz, Celtics, Grizzlies.
Minnesota was a 1st half team last season. This season, they're a typical 2nd half team.
Cavs, Mavs, Warriors, Rockets, Raptors, Kings, Thunder, Heat also score more points in 1st half.

No, no. This is not Euroleague or NCAA. NBA is different. In general, NBA is a game where more points scored in 1st half. Teams usually don't care about defense too much in 1st half, prefer to start with a more fast paced game in first half. When things get tight, they start to make more tactical, focused attacks under the "Defense" chant made my spectators. This "de-feeence" chant really slows down game tempo.Profit King wrote: It is generally regarded that second halves will be higher scoring. You re right. I thought that value will be on 2nd half more points but after my research a value is on both sides, depends of match. It is enough to watch pinny lines for totals at FT and HT and its clear. My advantage is that local bookie has these odds same for every match.

And local bookie probably have equal points in their favour. Same as zero on roulette when doesn't pay if you play on red or blackdataofsport wrote:Thank you Sawyer fo both posts.Yngwie/Sawyer wrote:No, no. This is not Euroleague or NCAA. NBA is different.
