I have accounts at many sportsbooks. All my accounts are usd. I don't need euro account because its not useful to me. Betfair i see that i can get usd account. But support tells me all odds are in decimal or fraction and i can't view american odds. Is that true? Because i dont know how to convert odds to american unless i use calculator. I obviously won't bother with this each time. If thats the case, is betfair going to be useless for me?
Also betfair seems confusing. Theres a sportbook and an exchange is that correct? How are they with american sports in terms of liqudiity compared to the other exchanges like matchbook and smarkets. There seems to be quite a lot of liquidity on mb but im not sure how it looks like on betfair as i just dont understand it. Are the odds similar to matchbook? I could read their odds b/c its american odds as oppose to decimal/fractions.
Also i keep hearing about the commission rate being 5 percent. Is that for every bet and for everyone? So if you are playing a straight wager on say the nba... assuming on pinnacle you lay -105... what are you laying on betfair sportsbook? What are you laying on betfair exchange? Matchbook seem to have the best odds of all when close to gametime compared to pinnacle.
However i hear lot about betfair and it just looks very confusing to me.

Re: Betfair Questions
Also is betfair important book for arbs? I cannot really tell b/c i dont understand how it looks. Very confusing compared to say the matchbook exchange.
But all i hear is 5 percent commission and that iseems like wouldn't the odds at a regular -110 book seem almost better or something i dont get? Because if on straight wagers, im guessing each wager is -107 or so?

Re: Betfair Questions
As far as I can tell Betfair only has two odds options - fraction & decimal - right at the bottom of the screen (as you correctly said)
The 5% commision BetFair apply changes country to country and is only paid on 'Exchange bet profits' - example you bet $10 on 2.10, total winnings including stake is $21 but you only pay the 5% on $11 'profit' - so 55c commision.
