Hi Arbusers,
I found out about this website as well as arbing a couple of weeks ago. I've been really happy with the profits I've made so far, especially for what seems like very little work. I wanted to ask your opinions on something to see if it would be a viable plan or not. I still don't know the ins and outs of arbitrage betting and this forum seems to be the place to ask.
I was planning on quitting my job at the end of this year and going travelling. My plan previously was to travel until my funds ran dry however I'm beginning to think there may be another way. If I was to leave with a relatively modest bankroll (£15k) how viable do you believe it would be to fund my travelling with the profits? To give this some perspective, the places I am planning on travelling to generally have a very low cost of living (approx £400 per month) and decent internet connection.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Arbing abroad
Well it sounds like you were planning on quitting your job and traveling anyway, so....... But if you were counting on arbing to fund your life, after only doing this for a short time, I would advise against. You never know when an account might get limited, or you make a mistake, or for whatever reason, this is not profitable anymore. Only you know how much profit you've made, or how much you could make depending on your bet sizes.

I am trying to avoid limitation by funneling my balance from bookies through to betfair by using long odd back/lay bets or arbs with short odds on betfair. Has anyone had any success using this method?
Re: Arbing abroad
I recognise that the profitability would come to end at some point. Currently I would make enough profit but I've been working only with softbooks and betfair, I am yet to have an account limited. I imagine my profits will drop considerably when that happens. After this I imagine I would have to use a broker. I'd be interested to find out if any arbers doing so believe that it would be possible to make the required profit going down this route with a 15k bankroll.Cash wrote: Well it sounds like you were planning on quitting your job and traveling anyway, so....... was an english girl who did this from places like Thailand and Bali and she claimed much success, she learned arbing
from an ex boyfriend, last I heard though she was trying to "flog" her skills with arbing seminars
that was about 3 or 4 years ago, probably tougher now but I'd say definitely doable in many countries, certainly
something I'd like to give a try, living in UK, great for arbing......shit for weather
"hotgeek" her old forum name, maybe she's on here? maybe she's still arbing successfully abroad?
good luck! travelarber

thought about this myself, pretty sure it could work but lots of things to take into consideration, on the old forum theretravelarber wrote:I recognise that the profitability would come to end at some point. It's something I assumed that many people would look to take advantage of given the location independent nature of arb betting and favourable costs of living elsewhere Thankfully the weather is quite nice where I am at the minute! Short-lived though I'm sure

Thanks yorkjoss, glad to see I'm not alone I'm my thinking. Thailand is actually one of the places on my list, having spent a couple of months there. I will have a look for her postsyorkjoss wrote: thought about this myself, pretty sure it could work but lots of things to take into consideration, on the old forum there

Re: Arbing abroad
I've been thinking about the same and i do believe it's possible. The more limits you get though, the more time you would have to spend to make those 400£.
Just remember that it is not always legal to bet in some of those paradise countries. Check this website http://www.gamingzion.com/sportsbook Perhaps it will be useful to you.
