First time Middle

Fri Apr 10, 2015 12:09 pm

Hi I need someone to try and explain middles
I'm having trouble getting my head around them

I sort of understand the concept
In this example what are the outcomes???
South  2.29 (-2.5)  $176
North 1.79 (3.5)  $225

Its a 0.5% arb as well

Thanks for any help I'm not asking how to do them more on what the possible outcomes are with this middle

You can win Bet 1, you can win bet 2 and you could win both bets if the goals difference is exactly 3 in favour of South

To give you an example, lets say the score is 4:1.
Congrats, you hit the middle and win both bets.

The first bet, after calculating handicap would be 1,5:1 seeing South as the winner (1,5 as 4 from the original score minus 2,5 handicap).
The second bet would be 4:4,5 seeing North as the winner (4,5 as 1 from the original score plus 3,5 handicap).

Thanks guys I'll study a bit harder

Do bookmaker limit you when betting on middles ???

If you keep taking middles that are also Arbs around 2-3%  I suppose bookmakers will limit you eventually correct?

Books may or may not know its a middle, but they will know their odds were out of line.  Thats what gets an account limited :)
