Hey guys,I was just in the middle of locking in an arb when the sharp side moved off the table completely,it was literally about 2-3 seconds after I placed my bet on the other side.Right now there's very little liquidity in this market and it got me to thinking, was the action just processed on the sharp side an automated one?Granted I was slow (I usually will click to lock both within milliseconds of each other) but I don't think this was a trader on the other side taking it off the table.
I always thought bots were a specialised area with traders utilising them more so than anyone but I didn't think the super soft side of the industry was involved until now,it feels a tad disconcerting knowing that we're up against that level now.I'll probably have to take a loss on this one and move on.

Close the trade as quick as possible, 90% of the time the market will move further against you lol

Re: Softs using bots?
I've been partially matched for some of what I wanted but I'm not sure how that works,if I cancel all unmatched does that mean I'm cancelling the partially matched bet too?I'm still exposed for about 50% of what I have down,I'll be closing the trade soon but it's looking bad, probably up there with my biggest loss when the smoke clears.

lesson #1: accept losses - they are part of the game
learn out of your personal situation: try heding via betfair, other softbooks, streetshops etc. (if amount is really huge - otherwise it is not worth the time spent - just close the trade with a loss...
Other days will come - be patient!

Traded for a mild loss, not as bad as expected.Hopefully payment for a valuable lesson.A little bit foolish and naive on something that should of been a lot more straightforward.
I'd still like to hear thoughts on whether or not the soft side is becoming more automated but my initial feelings about the event that caused me to start the thread have subsided,it's more likely I completely underestimated the volatility of the market.

The best lessons are the ones that cost ya.
Almost had the same situation yesterday as i type in the bet at pinny and go back to the soft book and bam the game is gone.
NEVER leave yourself exposed.
We're not degenerate gamblers who bet for the thrill of victory.
If your capital is gone you have nothing to earn with.
If you take a small hit you can earn that back with a couple trades.
