Do Books Ban Based on Betting Habits or Your Computer Data?

Wed Dec 09, 2015 6:55 pm

hi!  i know they say its safer to place bets in big leagues and round numbers, but i'm still not quite sure exactly what personal computer data the bookies use to decide whether you're arbing. for example, can they see when you place bets at other sites?  if so, then i figure thats all they need, and rounding your numbers wont matter.

I'm preety sure that's against law, but whatever it happens who knows. However they dont need that at all to ban you, (I am no arber yet so just giving my opinion, Im sure other members will help you with more factual info ) but I can assume bookies can pull each odds and see if a person that plays strange markets is arbing.

I mean arber account stands out, the mug punter will bet few hours minutes in front of tv on big games, if you bet on many games no matter what i think youll get a trader to have a look at your account and then he just compares odds and see if you were arbing .

99% of the time its betting on lines that are out/higher odds than betfair etc.

it 2015 and books are no longer stupid, they have sophisticated software that will flag up any accounts that need looking at by a trader, then bye bye.

Where a player lives is also a factor, and women are seen as more suspicious than men.

Even UK shops now phone through bets of £100, where as 2 years ago I could walk in and put £1000 on evens without any issues.

Too many people doing arbing IMO

Agree with this. Or if a price shortens after you bet it.

People are paranoid about the information sharing thing. There are just too many players online for bookmakers to worry about that stuff. Only when an account is flagged for some kind of issue will it be scrutinized in detail.

Otherwise if an account just bets arbs or steam, account gets restricted and that's it.
