It's called trading and betfair allows it and even loves it.  Thousands of people do this on a daily basis (they try and predict the line movement to make money). 

Google "lay the draw", it's one of the most common tactics of in-game sports trading.

finding arbs in betfair is extremely hard. check first if everything correct, profit, commission included etc. except if you trade as Alpha mentioned. then its a different story.
some guys are charismatic in trading. if you practice it enough you may be one of them

betfair arbs usually only last a few seconds from what I've seen.
I think we're versing arbers with sophisticated bots.

I don't think Cross Matching is possible on Betfair since they have an algorithm to prevent that. Cross Market Cross Matching might be possible but I know they also have an algorithm for that
