Get money out of Greece

Tue Nov 08, 2016 8:23 pm

I would like to know your opinion about how this situation can be solved.

Greek guy has 130K parked in the bank and wants to move it abroad.

Could that be done through Skrill to Neteller or Skrill to Neteller movement ? Will bank let him upload such a big amount even in parts ?

Any other Bitcoin scenarios ?

I really appreciate any help.

Do you still have capital controls in Greece?
If not, I'm sure there are Greek guys with excess Neteller or Skrill funds who would exchange for cash.

The Netherlands should be the final destination of the capital. Yes capital controls are active.

Deposit to Pinnacle or Neteller.
Then Withdraw. You may have to make some rollover before Pinny withdrawal though. (Shouldn't be a problem since you're arbing)

First, no way to upload this amount of money to Neteller or Skrill via Greek banks. You can only send abroad 1000 euro per month per person. The easiest way to do it is to have a friend who has a business which has both Greek bank account and abroad bank account.I am not telling anything else :).The difficult way is to send the limit amount of money to some relatives or friends of yours. You can withdraw 860 euro per 2 weeks i think. So if you can withdraw 1720 euro per month per account + 1000 euro per month to send abroad per account=2720 euro per month per account.I hope you have a lot of friends! :)

He is not but i could try to help him. The problem is indeed the amount of money which im afraid is impossible to be uploaded to an e-wallet and then transferred abroad even if one side is in Greece and the other one in the Netherlands under the same name.

Skrill has a bank account in Pireaus bank.
I think you can send as much money you want to your skrill account from a Greek bank account.

I do not know if there are any terms or conditions before they let you withdraw them to a foreign bank account.

Pireaus blocks internal transfers to this account.

Even if you find a away to send money to Skrill's bank account in Greece, you will still need to connect your personal Skrill account with a Dutch bank account under your name. This will be an issue because Skrill will accept 1 bank account under your name, the one that you already used to upload the money. Therefore you are in front of a dead end.
Another option would be to send the money to Skrill's bank account, upload the money to your personal Skrill account, and then withdraw that money from a Dutch ATM. This comes with a big cost and somewhere along the way, Skrill might ask questions about your purposes.

Instead of looking for a Tarzan style of solutions, jumping from one tree to another without a safety net, you could read my posts in the relevant thread, were I predicted that Greek banks depositors would have to pay the price of their risk ignorance, more than a year before capital controls were inflicted.

Are you sure about this? They give you the option to add more bank accounts.

I wasn't aware of the 1 bank account rule.
They won't (usually) allow you to add a bank account from another country however in my experience, unless you have some...history there.

I asked our manager some minutes ago about Skrill's policies. I was informed that 2 bank accounts will be allowed to members as long as they are under the same name. Doesn't matter if accounts are registered in different countries.
Good new for many.
