Hi..I dont use 'lay¨ at Betfair, just i use back at arbing.
But i think to start to do trading sometimes, no between betfair-bookmakers, trading only at betfair back-lay.
my betfair account have around 6% commision.
Tell me..For example,
If i place at the same market, lay 1.10 (100.91€ my liability) and then i place 1000€ back 1.11, and if wins back,
then how will culculate Betfair commision? At 110€ of back - 6% commision(6.60€) 110-6.60= 103.40..?
Or betfair will charge me commision at 9.09€ who is my sure profit, so bf commision is 0.55€?

Re: Question about Betfair commision
If your trading profit at a market: under 2.5-over 2.5 is 100$, then your commission is 6 $ and clear profit 94

1st bet.... lay 1.10 ...backers stake 1009.09€...my liability 100.91€..
2nd bet,....back 1.11...my stake 1000€.
If win my back bet 1.11, then betfair charge me commision 6% for my 110€? 6.60 commision ,,110-6.60=103.40
Or betfair will charge me commision at 9.09€ ? (0.55€)

Re: Question about Betfair commision
My answer was straight. You will pay commission on your 9.09 profit.
Gamblehappier said the same, in other words.
No matter if you placed 1 bet or one hundred bets, back or lay you will pay commission on the net profit for each market.

Now i want to ask something else.
If i do something like this every day at betfair, 10 bets per day (1.10 lay 1.11 back with 1000+€)
With this way i will place 11.000€ wagers per day and betfair will win only 5.55€ of my bets
So i think that after some bets they will charge at my account special charges.(i think this is PREMIUM CHARGES)
Something like this i understand when i read terms of betfair for customers who are winners and they have betting strategy with very low commision
Do you know to explain me about this?

Re: Question about Betfair commision
As ppintaluba said ,the commission is on your net profit.
Premium charges is extra charge you should pay due to winnings. Most traders will pay premium charges but also some arbers. This is the move of betfair to reduce profit form winners and especially traders.
Premium charges move some people to matchbook ,smarkets and of course stocks.Check also this
You will only be considered for the Premium Charge if, over the lifetime of your account, you satisfy all of the following criteria:
Your account is in profit;
Your total charges generated are less than 20% of gross profits; and
You bet in more than 250 markets.
I hope it helps..

Re: Question about Betfair commision
Question. I always wondered about the 250 markets thing. Does that mean 250 different markets? Or does it mean that if I have bet the 1X2 winner market in 250 games, then I qualify? Because you can pretty quickly get to have bet on 250 different soccer games I think.gamblehappier wrote:

Its 250 individual markets , whether they be different markets on the same match, or 250 markets on separate events.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. Then I guess there is no need to worry if you just bet 1X2 winner and Over/under markets.dealer wins wrote: Its 250 individual markets , whether they be different markets on the same match, or 250 markets on separate events.
