Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding deposits to BIA using bank transfer. Those worked smoothly before, but recently my bank would decline to transfer money via a Swift transfer to the specific IBAN of their payment provider in Lithuania. No further information was provided. Did anyone else experience this?
Do you have that problem using this tool?
Or using your bank app?

Is it safe to deposit/withdraw through bank account, if someone is from a restricted country?

What do you mean with "restricted"? If you can register on BIA you can deposit via bank...In my opinion the problems (taxes?) come with withdrawals.

If you are referring to Smarkets and Matchbook we can't even register.
BIA and their exchange Sharpxch is a very good solution for me (and for them, since I'm a quite big loser).

Yes, i'm switching to Sharp too, Orbit suspends accounts too easily without valid reasons.

My doubt is: in the long run we lose on the sharp side of the arb and win on the soft one, but in case of winning streak on the sharp side we'll need to withdraw some funds to recharge the other losing accounts.
Doing this through the bank, i dont know how safe it is, maybe better to find another method that guarantees more privacy?

Can you believe I've been a customer of Bia since 2022 and I've never asked for a withdrawal? So far so good, maybe it will happen in the future and I'd prefer to do it via crypto.
There have been months in active but I preferred not to withdraw and waiting for the logic run its course.
In my opinion if in the whole year if your deposits are higher than withdrawals you should not pay taxes but unluckily brokers are not treated like a normal foreign investment by tax office.

I agree 100%, between deposits and withdraws the difference is highly negative anyway

This reconfirms the theory of money flow from the sharp side to the soft.

Also, having an overall picture of the (many) hundreds of depositing players that we referred to BIA, I can say you are not alone with this observation.

Bank app - I usually use the standard bank transfer option.

Ok, so my hypothesis is not valid. Better ask directly to your bank but why don't you try via Bia portal? 90% of the times it works.

I know very well only one person who arb (despite I do live and prematch and he only prematch) and he keep losing since years on asian too so the theory is still valid even if in the past it was stronger since soft bookies were slower in adjusting odds than nowadays.
