AsianConnect / Orbit stole me over 1000 euro - SOLVED !

11 May 2019 - first email from AC, that my orbit account is suspended:

Hi Patryk,
I hope this email finds you well.
We are writing to inform you that we have been notified by our OrbitX upline regarding irregular betting activities found in your Orbit account. In this regard, we regret to inform you that OrbitX has decided to suspend and put your balance on hold for further investigation.

We thank you for your understanding on this matter as we have no control over OrbitX process in connection with the player’s betting pattern.

We will notify you once we have received any updates from Upline.
If you have any concerns in the future, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Writing on live chat with AC nothing help. The same formula as always when are any problems:

"We regret to inform you as we do not have an exact time frame.
Rest assured we will inform you as soon as we have received feedback from them.


I wrote also on orbit customer service which say are 24/7 - they don't reply to me till yesterday.

So I waited...

New email from AC (14.05.2019):

"Dear Patryk,

I hope this email finds you well.

We are writing to give you an update on the status of your account with Orbitx.

After further investigation made by Orbitx; we were informed that an irregular betting patterns; more specifically a FUNDS PASSING violation have been detected and confirmed in your account. Below are the bet ID for your reference

Bet ID:  6828496

As stated in Orbitx Terms and Condition Section 7: FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES, PROHIBITED TRANSACTION AND FAILED DEPOSIT: FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES, PROHIBITED TRANSACTIONS AND FAILED DEPOSITS

7.1 If, in Our sole determination, You are found to have cheated or attempted to defraud Us including but not limited to game manipulation or payment fraud, or manipulation of the multi-currency facilities, or if We suspect You of fraudulent payment, including use of stolen debit or credit cards, or any other fraudulent activity (including but not limited to any chargeback or other reversal of a payment) or prohibited transaction (including but not limited to money laundering) or if Your deposits failed to be honoured by Your bank for any reason, We reserve the right to immediately suspend and/or close Your Account and recover bad debts using whichever method may lawfully be available to Us.

7.2 We reserve the right to void and withhold any or all winnings made by any person or group of persons where We have reasonable grounds to believe that said person or group of persons is acting or has acted in liaison in an attempt to defraud or damage Us in any way.

Asianconnect have done everything to coordinate this case and retrieve your funds however, the decision of our up-line on this matter is final and we have no control over the way they handle accounts with fraudulent activities. In this regard, your account will be permanently closed and your funds seized.

Till 14 May I was able to log in to my orbit account, but can't place any bet, or transfer money on AC panel.

When I received the email above I was even unable to check what it was a bet. So I had to ask about it on AC chat.

AC chat sends me on chat the screenshot of this bet.

It was bet: Lay the odd 1,3 on one of the basketball matches. Why did I place this bet? Betburger found more than 50% surebet on this event. But someone was faster and took this odd. So I put my own stake and odd (the same as betburer show). I forgot about this because as You see I risked 7,5 Euro to win 25 euro. - I attached a screenshot of this bet which I get from AC chat.

In my wallet was more than 1300 euros.

How AsianConnect help me solve this problem? Just look at their response:

"Zilene: Apologies however we really have no control over such matter, it was Upline's decision.

Me: So what You recommend me to do? Let You take me money without the reason yes?

Zilene: In the future, if you have concerns regarding your account under Asianconnect, please contact us directly and not Upline. As your account is under us, we should be the one communicating with them.
Hoping for your patience and understanding."


So I send once again email to Orbit. This time they reply after a few minutes. But since this email, I send another 2 without a response.

"Hi Sir,

Thank you for the email and we are sorry to hear about your situation.

As I'm sure you can appreciate we have to take measures to protect all customers. Please confirm your Orbit username and who your agent is and we can take a further look into this for you. Do note Betfair decision is final so once they feedback to us we then have to adhere to what they say.

Many thanks in advance and chat again soon.

Sorry for lamenting, but I have to write about it on forums like this, maybe after that, they will do something... Now I lost my money, nervous and time...

To sum up. Asian Connect said this is Orbit decision. Orbit said this is Betfair decision.

Do You think writing to Betfair will help anything? I really envy players who can normally play at trusted Betfair Exchange.

They are saying a £7.5 bet is funds passing, you have got to be joking me.  Another scam place to avoid then, and I hope someone will have suggestions on how you can take this further.

We have a very similar situation with a player that got his money back in total and had the chance to witness how he did it.
I believe the case is not lost and obviously, there is no fund passing situation for as long as we are talking about a low bet like this.

Thank for your replys. After I add this post here and on SBR, and after I wrote to Curacao (orbit licence), Orbit started to wrote to me.

After few emails, they wrote:

"Dear Sir,

I have looked into the circumstances around your account closure and can now update you in more detail. The account was closed on the recommendation of our partners at Betfair who identified a series of fund passing transactions on the market where you were betting. At Orbit we operate a zero tolerance approach to fund passing and therefore you account was prevented from placing subsequent bets and our funds from that particular bet were frozen. We take fund passing very seriously and will not stand for this kind of activity to take place on our exchange.

It has come to our attention in the last 24 hours that some innocent customers have been caught in the cross fire on this occasion. When re-investigating your individual bets, we feel that you are one of these innocent parties who has inadvertently been caught up in this issue. We apologize for the distress of your account being closed and we will be reinstating the account with immediate effect with all frozen funds now returned.

We have the right to close any account without warning where we believe that fraudulent activity such as fund passing has taken place. Please be aware that we will not tolerate such practices and we will close accounts where Betfair expresses a belief that fund passing has occurred. In your case we regret the distress caused and hope you will find this a suitable apology to resume betting with Orbit. Your agent will be contacted immediately and the situation will be outlined to them too.

Thank you Sir, Please be reminded that you have now record of fund passer. Please beware of your betting style. Once upline detect you once again, they might permanently closed your account.

I am glad you have your account back. It seems there were many accounts involved in that trade. Some of them with large stake and it seems their decision is automatic for all accounts involved in this type of trade regardless of stake. At what email did you write to curacao ?

congratulations on your funds back.  i highly, highly doubt curacao had anything to do with it, it's one of the most worthless regulators out there, they don't care about issues like this as long as they get paid.

Hello guys ! One more update !

Please check added screenshot. It is screen of this bet.

Before I was unable to login to my account. Now I checked it and what I see?

From the stake of 25 Euro... 0,55 Euro was PLACED ! Not full 25 Euro.

So.. Because of this bet I am on the list of suspicious players !! I lost my nervous and time fighting for my money.

This is frankly ridiculous. They first block all accounts and seize all money from all players, no questions asked, no further investigation and no chance to discuss anything. They take it simply because they can, because there is no real enforcement body in this industry, and then we'll see what happens.

Then if and only if you press them bigtime, you MIGHT be lucky enough to ever see your money back, the only reason being their reputation is at stake when such news are published in this and other forums.

Honestly... anyone who dares play with them knows what is at risk. For a random bet of as low a bet as 1€ you might get all your balance confiscated, without knowing why and no chance to appeal.

I dare not go anywhere near scammers like these, my blood just boils to think about the situation.

Congratulations OP on having your money back! Seems like you did a great job, I'm very happy for you ;)

PS: and NO, them giving the money back to the rightful owner IS NOT ENOUGH

Barbero I absolutely agree.

Just say the OP managed to get £1000 on that arb, then what.  He would almost certainly never get his money back ever.

Orbit should be avoided and labelled a scam.
