baseball totals

Mon Jul 23, 2012 5:18 pm

Rebelbetting offered an arb in baseball:
Bet1: Over 9 runs
Bet2: Under 9 runs

But what happens when it's exactly 9? Or it's not possible?
I'm not so familiar with baseball rules.

You can try to check general sports rules, not special for baseball. Money is refunded on say O/U 3 goals in soccer if the match ends with 3 goals scored. Similar in all occasions. If there is no special rule like dead heat than it is refund.

Hey.
found a middle in baseball...but im not certanly sure if this is the same bet?

option 1: How many walks will PIT allow in the game?  over 2,5
option 2: PIT under 3    (PIT total)

is this the same line? or this are 2 different bets?

tnx for help :)

well, technically, that's a side not a middle.

Having the associated odds on each bet would help.

I also don't like the wording of the market in option 1.
"how many walks will PIT allow in the game" - its not clear what this means, is it
  • how many runs will they concede? (in which case you have nothing)
  • how many runs will they score? (then maybe you have something)
Each bookmaker has their own rules which are specific to the sport involved. You might find that option 1 only covers regular time and not extra time but that option 2 includes extra time, or vice versa and then there is risk you might lose both bets.

You'll also have to be sure that option 2 pushes on a total 3. The bookie rules may mean that you lose if the total is 3 in which case you have an arb (I got fucked by an aussie bookie once that used the term 'less than X', the result was X and they graded the bet as a loss)

Sorry, side ofc. Not middle. My bad. :)
I was confused about this option 1 thats why i asked here. Its not clear for me.
I let this bet go. Better, i suppose :)
