Bwin won't know who is the true bank account holder. They have the details that you send to them (IBAN: xxx, Account Holder; Lionel Messi). The problem is that IBAN: xxx belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo (you). So, it's completely up to the bank clerc to find out with a routine check that the account doesn't belong to Messi but to another person. If he is not lazy, he will find out and send the money back to bwin. If he is lazy, you will have the money credited to your account! I've tried once myself with another bookie but my bank didn't accept the invoice and send it back. But I also know cases of friends that did it without any problems.

My suggestion: If it's a low amount, go for it. If it's a larger amount, try to cut some kind of a deal with your friend and open a joint bank account.

The problem is that Account Holder name is automatically filled and you can't put your name on it

Of course he won't put his name on it. How silly would that be?

His question is :

Since the account holder name is automatically filled , you are obliged to put his details. You can't put your details (IBAN , SWIFT, Account Number)...why ? can you imagine what would happened if they require you a bank statement ???? Bank statement shows the account number  ,so the account number on bank statement  won't match with the account number you have filled.

...as long as his account is NOT locked - meaning he himself may input data  @BWIN he could be successful using his own account data.
BUT: More often lately BWIN does entirely close account, asking for a bank-statement and initiate the withdrawal then.
In that second case he would be in deep trouble then I assume (as not having too close relation to the real ID-person he is using...

Account enterily locked :)

However, they asked for the documents just to verify my identity. They didnt say the account would remained closed and all remaining fund would be sent to the bank account. Instead they said the account would be opened again after recieving documents.

Realizing I'm on kind of thin ice here but I guess what is left it either to PS a bank statement or make contact with this not-very-close friend.

I had the same problem as you HL but at Gamebookers.
They locked my account, asked for ID and my bank details. I thought they would make a withdrawal to my bank account but after I had my ID verified I was able to log in to the account again.
But I was not able to place any bets. I then made a withdrawal to my Skrill and there was no problem. Money recieved.

Good luck!

Were there any consequences for your account when the money was sent back? Did they figure out that you had filled in the wrong name? I'm just worried that if I try to withdraw and the money is sent back to them they'll start some kind of deeper investigation. But I guess the bank won't give them the reason the transaction wasn't accepted (if not accepted) as part of their secrecy.

I don't think the bank would disclose such details, but I can't be sure about that. My case was either way a lost one cause there wasn't any possibility of withdrawing to the friends account (the friend was proven not to be so... friendly). So after the bank returned the money to the bookie, I just dropped it and considered them a loss. As I recall the bookie didn't automatically credit back the money to his betting account, but as said I also didn't contact them to ask for it.

A friend that had a similar case, contacted the bookie and told them that a mistake was made when entering the IBAN number (which can honestly happen). The bookmaker charged him the banking fees and credited the rest of the amount to his betting account.  Afterwards, he was able to withdraw to the correct bank account.

Alright, how much did you withdraw? I'm forced to withdraw quite an substantial amount >€10,000 and I guess the bank are more careful the larger the amount. And also, they requested an bank statement which, if I want the money, I am forced to counterfeit. So I can't really go back to them if the withdrawal is not successful and tell them there has been a mistake when entering the IBAN Smiley I'm just trying to figure out the worst case scenario. If the worst case is that I lose the money, it's not a big deal. If the worst case is that they get the police or an investigation involved because of suspected money laundering or whatever, it might not be worth even trying.
