Corrinne Durber, a gardener and keen golfer from Gloucestershire takes Irish giant bookmaker PaddyPower to court after it claims there was an error with online slot machine and only credited her £20,000 instead of £1,097,132.71.
Durber was apparently informed she had won a jackpot of £1,097,132.71 after a single spin of Paddy Power’s Alice in Wonderland-themed online slot game, back in 2020. However, her account balance was only credited with £20,265.14, and she was told by the operator that a technical error had led to a mismatch between the result shown on her screen, and the real result ''determined by the central computer server at Paddy Power’s headquarters''.
Durber is now suing Paddy Power at London’s High Court, with her argument suggesting that the brand’s refusal to pay out breaks the rules of the game, but Philip Hinks, for Paddy Power, insists that what is shown on a customer's screen is an irrelevant ''wallpaper'', with the only action that really matters being the hidden generation of a random number by the host company's central computer.
''The wheel is only an entertainment feature, he said. "It's a bit more fun. It doesn't determine anything''.

Re: Corinne Durber vs PaddyPower
A UK High Court ordered Paddy Power to pay Corrinne Durber from Gloucestershire her full £1m jackpot winnings following a legal battle that lasted 4 years over withheld funds.
Corrine Durber said she would never bet with Paddy Power again. She also said she is "relieved and happy" that the judge had confirmed she won "fairly and squarely" £1m from Paddy Power.
All I can say is, congratulations Corrinne.
