Disguising Arb as Double with 1.01?

Wed Mar 23, 2016 4:48 pm

Is it a good strategy to disguise carb with another bet, i.e. some other random in play with odds of 1.01, I'm a beginner so just looking to avoid being limited. Have rounded stakes and only betting on big markets atm.

Thanks

Hmmm, would be hard to hedge 1,01. You need 100 at least  :D

It was a strategy I was doing sometimes in order to bypass parlay bet requirement. Guess what happened one day. Yes! One stupid 1,01 favourite boom!

I suggest you to try 1,001 favourites. I never saw they lost  ;D

Don't do it
The 1.01 at a softbook is not a fair price most of the time, so you cannot cover immediately or you can cover with a loss so you lose profit from the arb. It doensn't worth the risk.
I guess you don't want to cover your 1.01, this is another reason to stay away from this tactic

It could be profitable if your arb is 3% + if you don't cover the short odds.  That is, if the 1.01 odds only lose about 1/50 or so...not sure if that's worth all the effort though.

There are ways I was thinking about. Haven't tried cause Im too busy at the moment. If we talk about bookie who let you cash out you can take a game you want to arb and another, with very low odds which ends after the game you want to trade. Best would be odds 1.01 or lower. May be tennis fav. Just cash out after your arb game is settled, you wont lose much. As I remember around 1%. The thing is do bookies consider this cashed out double as a double and this way will extend your account life or not? Don't know, as I said I just cant find out at the moment.

Another way I was thinking about is to find another game you're sure that will be postoponed (and stake returned, settled as odds 1.00).

2-3% are you sure? Have you tried odds 1.005 and lower? Cause Im pretty sure I've checked odds 1.005 and it was 1.5% max. But I may be wrong of course.

Heavy rain forecast is first what I was thinking about but Im not sure how often games would be postoponed in this case.
