Media reports that Dubai will participate with a team in the 2025-26 season while Emirates might bid to replace Turkish Airlines for the top sponsorship of the league. Dubai is asking for 2 final fours to be held in UAE. Media reports the Euroleague is ready to offer one, while they are also thinking to create something similar to super cap.
Still, it is not clear what safety guarantees are given to Maccabi Tel Aviv and what is the position of the historic Israeli team. Every Euroleague team will receive a total of 5mn while Euroleague might receive a 9 figure contract.

Let's see if the Saudis and the Qataris bid for more teams.

Will the name remain EUROleague?

It is my understanding that Dubai BC will be the Emirati team to be included in Euroleague. For this season Dubai BC will play in ABA league (the Basketball League of the former Yugoslavia). ABA league should be seen as a step towards Euroleague.

Dubai BC made clear of the intentions when signed Latvian NBAer Davis Bertans. The home of the team will be the Coca-Cola Arena located in the walk of Dubai with a capacity of 17.000 spectators. The only question left to be answered is when, not if.

Will the name remain EUROleague?

Georgia and Turkey also played EURO 2024 ...

Today, it was announced that Abu Dhabi is set to host the Final Four of the 2024-25 EuroLeague season, in Etihad Arena.This is the first city outside Europe to welcome the EuroLeague Final Four.

For the record, 11 out of the 13 votes were in favour of hosting rights going to Abu Dhabi. Olympiacos and Real Madrid were against, all other 11 teams voted for Abu Dhabi. It is my belief, that very soon, one of these 11 teams will lose the Euroleague membership for a UAE team. This is called shooting your own foot.

At first I believed that one of the 2 Serbian teams would be ousted by the Euroleague, to be replaced by a non European team for the 2025-26 season. It seems that both teams understood the plot and they created their defence in various levels. I no longer think that a Serbian team will be ousted.
However, one team will be ousted because the money runs like a river.
