Few question

Thu Jan 31, 2013 6:06 pm

Ermm im very new to arbing.. So just a few questions. Some of them might amuse you lol :D

If i have say £5000 to start with and place an arb which goes something like 1 3000 X 500 2 1500 on a football game (Soccer)

So my total cash is used up on one arb, how many arbs is it possible to place a day and is it a good idea to place a few a day? Obviously i would hafto place arbs at different times of the day so they didnt clash etc. Please, i understand its not good to use all youre capital on one arb as you should have money in lots of different bookmakers lol im just asking :)

Also ive seen posts of if you invest 5000-10,000 can you make 10% profit a month.. correct me if im wrong and i probably am wouldnt it be possible to place an arb every day or every 2 days? And for instance the arbs placed each time were 2.5% profit with the total money placed being 5000 you would make £125 an Arb multiplying that by say 15 arbs that you have placed in a month (If thats possible) Wouldnt that be a profit of £1875? Therefore making a profit of 37.5% of youre starting money.

Im probably missing lots of information and just getting carried away lol

Forgive my manners. I am Joe, im from the UK and can i just say what a great forum this is! Ive been trying to beat the bookies for years now and i actually feel close this time thanks to this forum, everyone seems to help eachother out.. At the end of the day were all here for the same reason. Please message me if you have any advice for a new guy! Im currently studying arbs everyday as i am out of work, and seeing how fast i can place arbs (without actually placing them lol)

Oh one final question, How long does the average arb last before the bookies change it? Ive seen some last hours and some last minutes or 1minute lol Plus i saw an arb today at 14% should i stay away from these kind of percentages??

so sorry im sure youre all very busy.

Welcome to the bussiness Joe.

Ill give you some answers based in my personal experience.
The situation you are describing is hard to happen and very dangerous as well, especially for a beginner. You shouldnt risk a big percentage of your bankroll in a sigle arb for lots of reasons. Lots of things can go wrong, arbing is not risk-free. You could be betting a palpable error and the winning bookmaker could void it out, some odds may move before you place all the legs, maybe you have limits on one leg that you unaware of. You will encounter all these along the way and eventually learn how to sniff them out and bet properly. It is important that these mistakes dont cost you a lot in the start, for your bankroll and your morale :)
You should try betting a balance of high% arbs and closing match start. Again with experience youll understand what im talking about.
About your calculations, its not working that way. You dont bet your entire bankroll, you place lots of smaller bets.
Usually arbs last some minutes, afterwards odds move, limits go down. But there are exceptions. Stay away from arbs higher that 3-4%, if something seems too good to be true it probably is. Dont be greedy.
You need experience in how the bookies sites work, how to spot their limits, how fast they refresh the odds. Im not sure whats the best way to do this. Maybe trying to bet arbs with pennies, but not actual arbs. Actual arbs may get you limited before you even start.

Thankyou for the advice i will keep it in mind. Any advice on speed? ie to place arbs as quickly as possible as soon as i have seen it..
But i need to check the arb first lol

I have been "Paper trading" today but its not the same as you cant actually place the bets, Plus i dont want to limit accounts like you said before i have even started. There must be some of you that know how to avoid being limited to a few bookies to keep you in business :D

Afterall im sure there is only so many friends/family we can bribe for there ID's ;) LOL Plus its like starting all over again i imagine with signing up to bookies etc.. come on give me hand guys. If you dont wish to post then please email me joeguytrading@hotmail.co.uk

1. Paper trading is not goo training. You never know if the bet would be accepted or not. Better to try arbitrage with small stakes.

2. Good arbs are gone in 5-20 seconds not minutes.

Check all the bets before you place them Joe. Check them good. At first it will take time and you will just lose the arb, but that wont cost you money. Making a mistake when placing an arb is likely to cost you money though. In time you will learn to check faster and where you can trust your software and also where you need to double check things. Softwares make mistakes but they make far less than we do and they usually make the same over some time, so its ok.
Really there are not a lot more things we can teach you here at this point, you ll have to try swimming on your own.
In the future you ll come up with specific question and probably you ll find answers already posted here in the forum. If not, somebody could answer something specific to you if he has the time.
