Hi everyone
I'm retiring from job in 2 week's.
I used do lots of arbing ,matched betting , value betting few years ago. I'm (and my family)gubbed probably with all bookies. All I have left are the exchanges. What's are current options with my position?I just want to do something with my time. I live in bookies "paradise" . I have lots brick and mortar bookies around me. I love to watch football and tennis. I would appreciate any good advice and suggestions.

You live in “bookies paradise" and you don’t know what to do ?Peter H wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 11:23 pmHi everyone

It would greatly help to say which country is that paradise. Why don't you use these shops. Fist thing coming to my mind, place soft bets in the shops, see them in exchanges. Even better, value betting in shops.

Re: Gubbed with bookies and retired from job
hello peter H, I am in a similar situation to yourself...have you done Betfred with the german leagues? when the score is 3-0 or more they don't play stoppage time in germany in maybe 95% of the times, Betfred has never realised this, if it's 3 or more goals lead then there is still money to be made from limited accounts as he lets you win £25...for the last 2 years doing this with Betfred and double chance bets with bet365 and betting other side to win on betfair were the only lucrative things left for me....the goals bets with Betfred not realising they don't play stoppage time in germany was particularly lucrative, placing a value bet on no more goals when the clock got to 89:35 was brilliant as very soon after you bet got accepted the ref' blew the full time whistle, he was letting me put on £2500 on odds around 1.125 but many times as hgh as 1.2, on betfair at the time it would be 1.05ish to lay but you just waited for suspended to come up for full time without laying

Re: Gubbed with bookies and retired from job
it's very hard to get any sort of large bets on now in the shops in UK, more than £100 they are phoning a trader and more likely to reply with yes we'll take your bet but with lower odds, shops are now no good in UK

the "betfred" betting on goals because of no stoppage time on Bundes1 and Bundes 2 when a team is 3 or more goals up made me approx' £60k in 2021/22 season, I wouldn't be writing that on an arber's forum if i was still in the game.
Re: Gubbed with bookies and retired from job
I don't think I am looking for any sort of partnership vidic26, I had a good run, most of the "tricks" i used to find and profit from are history now, yes i am bored and yes I do miss it but if I can help any arber beat those bookmakers then I would if I can.

Re: Gubbed with bookies and retired from job
with these very small amounts then yes sound like retiring is likeliest option for you peter H unless you just want a small hobby?, for someone beginning an arbing career in the UK it is now far more difficult than before, that is not to say impossible, making £large amounts per year is still achievable for the smart guys with the right connections.

It's much harder these days. But don't give up - at least walking to the shops is good exercise.

Interesting to hear.
And the prices in the shops are generally the same as online?
I’m asking because I have a signal that is profitable against the sharps, but only on the lower leagues where the limits are low.
Offering it to people who bet in shops could be attractive- if they can bet big enough.

Re: Gubbed with bookies and retired from job
the prices in the shops are on coupons, these coupon odds are not the same as the online price sometimes higher, sometimes lower, in the old days I'd go round many shops in same day placing £200 bets on each time with prices not changing or very slow to change, now price changes on the coupons are very common, for me I got banned from all the shops....still if you feel you have an edge on lower leagues and can be bothered running round lots of shops or have people to do that for you then sure you'd be able to make some guaranteed profit......I imagine on a saturday in the hours before and to kick off there is lots of shop arbing opportunities but most arbers too busy then although the weekend coupons come out on a wednesday or at least they did when I was in that game.ex-hft wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 2:37 pmthomas wilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 9:19 amit's very hard to get any sort of large bets on now in the shops in UK, more than £100 they are phoning a trader and more likely to reply with yes we'll take your bet but with lower odds, shops are now no good in UK

Thanks Thomas, I’m not from the UK, but know some people who might want to try. I’ll proceed with the noob questions - how do you get banned from shops? Is it because you need to identify every time you place a bet? Or is it at the personal discretion of the person running the shop?
