I saw a very interesting site called zopa were you can lend money with interest.Is it only for uk ? Does anyone here use it ?

Tried it back in the day but got rejected. Not sure why as my credit is fine. IMO doesn't seem the best use for those who have excess funds and what the money to do some work for them.

Zopa in Russian means ass and also something like "in deep s*it" and of course "fu*k" - depending on context.
I guess the developers did not know that. Or maybe they did know and they had a good sense of humor

Explored the site and figures are impressive.
Just some of:
Zopa has lent over £713 million to UK consumers
Over the last year we lent over £250 million
Btw, although it might be that founders wanted to shake potential Russian market  :D but I believe that the service name was made in the spirit of Zopa as Zone of Possible Agreement since its very common methodology when it comes to a pre-preparation of negotiating, together with Batna (Best alternative to a negotiated agreement).

The rate of return seems good for 3+ years loans but there is some risk involved. I wouldn't do it.  I probably wouldn't want to keep money on a fixed term deposit with a bank either these days.
