Worst hedge you would take

Mon Jul 28, 2014 11:43 am

Hello. I was wondering if you are trying to bet on an arb and once you want to bet on the other bookie it changes the odds. In this scenario you are probably looking for another bookie to place the other side of a bet to cut your losses and not to gamble on the amount you put on.

Anyway, I was wondering what is the max -% of an arb you would take to not leave your money on a gamble?

Thanks.

This doesn't sound right. Or maybe I did not understand you. You would take a -75% arb to not take the gamble? It seems to me that it would be much better to just leave it to the chance in this spot.

If I had 1000 euros at odds 6.00 and the real price was 3.00, i would hedge out at -70% as well or whatever % the real other side odds would give me.

For small amounts I wouldn't bother hedging, I would just leave it as is and move on. Not because I like gambling, im a horrible bettor, but I choose to not waste another minute dealing with that and move back on to placing new arbs.
Open bets should even themselves out in the long run. Even if they don't have value you should get like 90% of all those open stakes back.
