FYI
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/125456
It has become a common practice for bookmakers within the UK and that operate in the UK to restrict or close the accounts of successful punters. Everyday, countless accounts are closed because of punters searching out best odds on comparison sites and selecting more winners than losers.
More details
Other licence operators around the world are recognising this has become an issue, most recently New South Wales introduced more stringent regulations than those we ask for in this petition.
The petitioners want to see the following:
Bookmakers must accept a legitimate stake up to £25 on all accounts, and restrictions must not restrict to under £25. Bookmakers also be banned from closing accounts of successful punters or refuse to accept a new account.

Re: UK betting petition
A noble quest, but in the UK businesses have the right to "refuse entry", as long as it is not on the grounds of race, sex age etc
If they let us arbers loose with no restrictions they would be closed within a week, or turn into betfairs.
Reminds me of the Atlantic City Casino ruling years ago where card counters couldnt be banned, lasted a few weeks I believe and led to worse playing conditions for all when the dust settled.

Re: UK betting petition
This could explain why books prefer to limit players instead of closing accounts.
There are others tactics they could employ instead of limiting, like putting people on delay or on extra juice ( l1xbet does that).

Ive signed the petition but not sure what the ramifications will be. Would it just put every soft bookie out of business, those that dont sharpen up will be gone which is bad for us.

Anyway, back to the £25, im sure some of the more tech-knowing members are salivating thinking of their series of bots betting 25.
Certainly the bookies will figure out a way to defend themselves
Re: UK betting petition
£25 is small, relative to what is happening in NSW horseracing. They have 500AUD 'to win' amount minimum if im not mistaken?raizzak wrote: cmon be real.... noone will be out of bussness having to accept 25 pound bets...

Re: UK betting petition
905 signatures so far.
It's a good initiative, but I don't see how it can be enforced, to companies that operate in places like Malta etc.
They can always find a "it's a trading department decision" way out of any problem, without anyone regulating them.
That's how they survive so far.

Re: UK betting petition
I urge all UK citizens to sign the petition.
You and your money are the only reason these greedy b@stards are still in biz. Furthermore, should be subject to criminal investigation the dramatic fluctuations of odds. I am more than confident that in most cases "fraud" is involved.
Their unethical replies such as "it's trading's dpt decision" are over.. They want war and they are going to have it.!

Re: UK betting petition
Once daft thought....by filling in the petition, aren't we all giving our names on a list to the bookies who could ask under freedom of information...just a thought, like I said.
