ATM withdrawal limits

Sat Apr 09, 2016 5:47 pm

Guys, I m starting this topic in order to have information about ATM withdrawal limits in Europe and abroad, using our e-wallet cards. Please mention the country, the name of the bank, type of card (silver/gold etc), costs and limits.
I believe this is going to be helpful for those of us who travel a lot.
Thank you for the contribution.

In Italy with Skrill, using the prepaid MasterCard, for ATM withdrawals is a limit of € 250 per day and costs € 1.80 commission. (For non-VIP users).
For users bronze VIP, the limit is 750 € per day and costs € 1.80 commission.
For users VIP Silver, the limit is 750 € per day and costs € zero commission.
For users VIP gold, the limit is 3000 € per day and costs € zero commission.
For users VIP Diamond, the limit is 5000 € per day and costs € zero commission.
These are indeed the VIP limits but the question here is whether local banks impose additional limits on ATM transactions.

Well, since you can repeat withdrawals several times, the limit is ultimately what Neteller imposes on your card and not what the bank allows you to withdraw.

Of course, several withdrawals will result into higher charges by Neteller (at least for bronze and silver vip's).

Having said the above, I've noticed different withdrawal limits for one withdrawal from different branches of the same bank or even different ATM machines of the same bank branch (most usually when one ATM machine is outside of the branch and the other inside).

The general rule in the following countries is:

Germany: 1.000-2.000 euros per transaction (but I've encountered ATM's giving out only 200 euros per transaction)
Austria: 400 euros per transaction (with 1-2 exceptions of 1000 euros)
Switzerland: 1000 swiss francs per transaction (not entirely sure about that one)

BAWAG Psk in Austria allows 2k withdrawals at once. The rest of the banks offer the standard 400 euros per transaction.

This might be the cheapest and fastest way so far.

I m doing a correction here. Some members reported the usual limit of 400 in their ATMs as well. You need to search for the 2k ATM.

600 per ATM per day in Ireland, thats from the 'big ATMs', wish there were 1k -2k ones.
Some smaller ones allow 200-250.

What are the current limits in Greece for the e-wallet mastercards?

Thailand, 180 thb atm fee (around 4 euros) at every bank, dont bother walking. Dont recall specific limit but they are high.

Denmark, no atm fee, use 'Danske Bank' for highest limits which is slightly less than 3k euros with mastercard and option to withdraw in euro.

Poland: Euronet chain (biggest one) 4000PLN (approx. €940) at once. Some ATMs have an option to 'withdraw in EUR', what means a double FX fee (EUR->PLN->EUR)...
Croatia: Zagrebacka banka 8000HRK (approx €1050, airport), what's most surprising, i got it on average rate without Neteller's FX fee! (mid 2015). Double checked, no mistake!
Slovenia: Abanka, Unicredit - €2000 at once.
Gorenjska Banka - once got €2000, once got refused for €2000 and used another ATM.
Malta: Bank of Valletta, selected ATM's (e.g. Portomaso, St. Julian's branch, airport) - €2000, some €1000. Not 100% sure but as far as i remember HSBC cash machines were also €2000 (at least some of them).

All transactions with Neteller, gold VIP.

Lithuania.
Most ATMs will dispense their set limit each time. This limit varies from 500-1000 euros. However, I must say that Swedbank's ATMs are very generous. Most of them will dispense 1000 euros each time, but there are some very specific ATMs that would allow a cash withdrawal of 2500 euros. This is the biggest cash limit I have ever seen in Europe and it surprises me positively to see it in Lithuania.

Gold VIP+ should stay at flat fee from what i heard.
Plus, you got your 10 x withdraw fees per month refunded.
