Tennis is not a good arb

Wed Feb 15, 2017 1:56 pm

These days tennis players are retiring often, in any tournament.
Usually most companies will void the bet.

Dropped $250... Another win for the bookies.  ;D ;D ;D

Ever noticed you lose on these voids more often than you win, while it should be 50-50? It's almost as if bookies who void-on-retirement offer better odds on players very likely to retire in their next match...

This makes total sense, if I wanted to bet on someone who should be the favourite to win a match but sporting an injury and likely to pull out, I would bet somewhere where pulling out doesn't lose me the bet, making it more like risk free and in turn causing their opponent's odds to drift.

Somewhere on this forum is a very handy list grouping the bookies by their T&Cs on Tennis. I couldn't tell you where it is, but I have it printed and pinned to the wall next to me. More often than not the tennis arbs I am considering cross the groupings and I have to bail, I suspect they're not even arbs at all.
Win->bet more->lose->bet same-> bankrupt
