Skrill "source of wealth"

Fri May 12, 2017 11:36 pm

I am a Skrill customer for 2 years, since they stopped their reward program I only use them for betfair and Betdaq occasionally as they are faster than debit card transactions.

This week they sent me a "source of wealth" form to fill in.

After a few emails they insisted I send in my Betfair screens of Profit & Loss, deposits/withdrawals and registration details. (No idea what that has to do with the funds I have and want to spend with Betfair)  I have reluctantly sent them this although I feel it puts the security of my BF account at risk to ID fraud.

What annoys me is why they even need this info in the first place, and 2 days after providing them with this invasive info they have not responded back to me.

Luckily I have zero money in Skrill and no need to use them, but I would advise against using them as they are taking the pi$$ and requesting information of matters that as a payment processor shouldnt concern them.

Im am 100% who I say I am, and can use my funds to bet and gamble with whoever I want to and it should be of no business to payment processors other than to ID me and process my payments.

Its like the financial world want to know about every cent you earn and spend these days seriously!!!

I said before that Paysafe group is bullshitting people.
There are many companies offering payment services and one should alert them, guide them and promote them to enter the gambling industry.

Luckily e-wallets are not  same as bookies where they can hide themselves. Skrill is located London. And if they say that bullshit i travel directly to their head office, and give some daily newspaper "story". I think big guys are going to ran like rats to find some solutions...
But that all assumes that you are clear. If not, then things are not so easy, but still they are licenced company and should be transperent.

In my case I am 100% clean lol  On the voters roll, only ever use sportsbooks in my name, never multi-accounted, all funds used are my own personal savings.

What did you declare as a source of wealth when they asked you to complete that form? As far as I know they ask for proofs. If they asked you to send BF data, then most probably you declared arbing/trading with betfair as a source of income. Am I right?

I have done source of wealth form with skrill a few times, they asked for normal i.d, photo/documents and also a screenshot of bookmakers page with bets and personal information, I told them I was an arber/trader each time, was all straightforward and a few days later would get email saying my account is fully updated.

in my experience if you give them what they request they are more than happy to verify your account.

I told them that my source of wealth is savings held, and begrudgingly sent them screenshots of my betfair account.  Waiting for a reply from Skrill still.

I have not mentioned that I am an arber just that I use my personal savings to place bets on Betfair.

I dont like word "arber" That word has bad influence. Try "profesional trader" or "trader". Funny that financial sector traders have better reputations Second thing to become arber you dont have to be millionare. U can start from 100 euro and that money can come up everywhere....U dont need high paper to proof where that investment come from!!!

what are you talking about? why make things more difficult than they already are, this is an art form
for many on here on arbusers

you have no clue of their perception of the word arber or trader or financial trader, or how much money that means they think you have,

have they ever came back and told you not to write arber? and to write trader instead....I think not

they are required by law to ask you these questions and as a business will be delighted to receive
acceptable response so they keep their customers.

do you actually believe they have one level/mindset for traders and another for arbers?.............crazy!

Phoned them today as heard nothing for 4 weeks (great CS lol)  After being put on hold for about 10 minutes the lady said that I had "passed" the source of wealth verification and that my account was good to go.  Asked for email confirmation which arrived 5 minutes later.

I do understand they are forced to do these invasive excessive checks, but from a customer perspective they are very annoying, can put you at risk of fraud, and IMO totally over the top.

None of my banks have asked me for this, and with my Nationwide and Halifax accounts a minimum of £100000 goes in and out of it every month to re-balance the funds in exchanges/books/Pinnacle etc

Skrill used to get this level of business but since they got greedy I already go out of my way to avoid them wherever possible lol
