question

Sun Apr 29, 2018 8:01 am

Hi guys. I'm an arb player but recently i got intrigued by value betting. heres a question for you:

Gamba Osaka - Sagan Tosu in play odds

odds SBO:                                    2.62      2.37        3.5
Pinnacle:                                        2.55      2.55        3.55
Betfair market:                              2.86      2.64        3.4

Is betfair offering value at 2.86 for osaka considering his sharpness? what about the 2.64 draw?

I saw an arb today between gunneswaran - safwat for 5.54% in play at the end of second set. Also i am seeing a trend in betfair markets for in play tennis. Many opportunities to take +10 ticks above what pinnacle and sbo offer. Isnt that value or is betfair market above pinnacle and sbo in tennis odds sharpness. Anyone tried this? Opinions?

The odds for draw are unreal and show the market expecting something weird to happen. The result (3-0) shows that nothing weird happened.
Seems the 2.64 for draw was value in this case. But, IMHO you can never be sure if you just compare these 3 and you need to see the opinion of softs as well.
Pinnacle and SBO are not famous for their tennis odds, so this trilemma will not work there either.

Safwat and Gunneswaram are two players where you might expect "unusual odds" at times.

Not to surprising to see the winner lost the first set.
