As I see Brazil and Argentina being very weak I decided to vote for some underdogs and underestimated by the bookies teams. Belgium and Portugal. Especially for Belgium I have very good feelings as the team is very strong and Lukaku will bid for top scorer of the tournament.
I have good feelings for Switzerland also but that would be a major surprise.

England are likely to play Jordan Pickford in goal. He is totally shit.

France have a strong group of players. It's usually the same old teams like Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain who win these major tournaments.

Argentina left forward Mauro Icardi out of their squad and he is brilliant. They went with Messi, Dybala, Higuain and Aguero. That's what you would describe as an embarrassment of riches.

Belgium lost Kompany yesterday (once again, the guy is made from glass) in the friendly VS Portugal.  Their defense is simply not up to par so they'll probably be out in the 16th round or quarter finals.  I don't see them being able to take on any decent team.

Martinez is hit and miss, won a cup with Wigan but couldn't keep them in the league, did a poor job at Everton. I'd b very surprised if they make the semis.

Iceland and Switzerland for me. It is time for a major upset as half of the planet believes this trophy goes to Berlin.

You have to give me a break with Iceland guys.
According to your votes Iceland is behind Germany and Spain for lifting the Cup having more votes than Argentina and Brazil.

It is because the see a potential fix maybe?
Iceland is very well positioned for this. But I could say the same for France, for Sweden, for Switzerland and a couple more European countries.

I agree with a notion of a major upset, but I think it'll be Croatia who goes all the way. Their starting 11 are insane, especially the midfield.

All right guys, we are 24h before kick off and lets compare some stats.
Bookmakers favourites are: Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, Argentina, Belgium, England, Portugal, Uruguay, Croatia.
Arbusers favourites are: Germany, Spain, Iceland, France, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia.

Let's see who performs better. I selected 10 favourites from bookmakers and 9 from arbusers, because many arbusers choices had the same amount of votes until today and the number would go up dramatically.

At this stage, I would like to bring in the Democracy Institute’s econometric soccer rankings, a popular tool among gamblers and investors. DI’s predictive model had very successful runs at the 2014 and 2010 Worlds Cups and, most recently, during Euro 2016.
DI’s 2018 World Cup rankings signal that Brazil, France, Spain, and Argentina are condemned to under-achieve...while Uruguay, Switzerland, England, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, Morocco, Australia Colombia and Russia are are about to exceed expectations.

We get mixed signals from everywhere. One think that made impressed me is Iceland's pick for the 3rd place in arbusers. I spoke with a number of you guys and the general opinion is that Iceland represents the possibility of a major surprise. Some people that voted for iceland were about to vote for Switzerland and Belgium as they put them in the same category. The category of the major upset.
Over the years, we have seen that the opinion of our members is much more correct compared to the opinion of the wider audience or the opinion of bookmakers. We have seen that in Brexit, in US elections and previous World Cups and Euros.

What do I make out of it?
I believe Brazil and Portugal worths to be shorted.
I believe Iceland, Colombia and Switzerland represent value.
I m not saying that I would keep these bets until the end. But judging from every day's ups and downs I would sell my positions at a later stage.

You had a good one tonight campeones, but both teams look very weak to my eyes.
Mistakes upon mistakes and managerial delusions. Final score 5-0 tells nothing to me.

I see France going up in preferences.
