Yesterday, Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond delivered the UK’s final budget before Brexit. Outlining its 2019 tax plan, the UK Treasury will increase Remote Gambling Duties from 15% to 21% on online games of chance.
Already industry figures are describing this as a nightmare.
''I can confirm that we will increase Remote Gaming Duty on online games of chance, to 21 percent in order to fund the loss of revenue as we reduce FOBT stakes to 2 pounds'' Hammond announced before the parliament.
This reduce of FOBT stakes is planed from October 2019, but the new increased tax will come into effect from January 1st.

Re: UK gambling tax to 21% (from 15%)
There is a growing discussion on what could be considered a game of chance and many interpretations fit in this discussion. This 15% tax was absorbed to a large extend mainly by gambling operators while some costs were rolled over to the clients and affiliates. The 21% tax is an even bigger burden and managers are already counting their options, some of them might be...absorb, roll over to the usual victims (players affiliates), go offshore.campeones wrote: online games of chance.
The UK will indeed need God's help if a left wing government takes office.dealer wins wrote: Tax tax tax, and this is a Conservative government. God help the UK if a left wing government ever get in again!!!
