I would like to share with this great community the results of a research that came to my attention.
In order to reduce costs a number of bookmakers and casinos are outsourcing the process of screening, auditing and monitoring clients.
Big bookmakers and casinos have the means and the sources to complete all this process in house, while smaller companies with limited budgets usually prefer to outsource these tasks to 3rd parties with access to big data offering a wide range of services. These services include but they are not limited to the following:
-Screening and verifying the identity and the age of the client in real time, together with an initial low density auditing.
-On going screening and monitoring of the client, according to a number of filters set by the bookmaker or the casino. When a client is caught by a filter, sanctions take place.
-Document verification. This could be automatic or manual, according to the requests of the bookmaker or the casino. Some bookmakers are ordering both, an automatic verification that takes place in real time upon registration and deliver of documents, and a manual one that takes place at a later stage, randomly or when a clients asks for a certain type of a withdrawal.
-Disposable Income Assessment. It is mentioned before that they virtually visit your home using google earth but they also add other parameters according to the age and the country of origin to determine what is the real income of the client. To complete the profile, they will visit your social media profiles. If social media profiles are not in place then risk score is getting higher.
-Facial comparison. The ID that clients provide upon verification are compared to their photos in their social media profiles. This could be both automatic or manual. This task is harder for them when the name is common, like John Smith etc and when the language allows different spellings when translated into English. i.e Albanian, Greek etc.
-Email risk assessment. Some e-mail providers are riskier than others, while certain types of e-mails are considered more dangerous than others.
I hope this contributes to the general knowledge of smart gambling.

This is not a scaremongering statement. If you attend any of the big meetings you will see a bunch of companies offering exactly these services. Coincidentally, an e-mail came to me yesterday advertising what campeones is reporting, among other things.
I was wondering who are these bookmakers you worked for, and when did you finish your relationship with them.

Re: Screening and auditing players
Big data and technology enable this kind of thing.
I am guessing it was either impossible or unprofitable (or both) a few years ago.
Now its affordable for bookies to profile their customers in this way.
Even if you minimise your digital footprint as much as possible to counter this then that in itself is a flag!

I worked for williamhill and skybet up until 2 years ago, almost none of these things went on that campeones mentioned and the verifications for Hills was done in Manilla and they weren't doing any of that stuff i can assure you. If things have changed so much in last 2 years then we all have to quit but it's bs, bet365 have over 30 million customers they'd need to employ 20,000 more staff to do all that scaremongering stuffArbusers wrote: This is not a scaremongering statement. Re: Screening and auditing players
campeones is not only absolutely correct, but verified as well.
One company actually confirmed this in a newspaper interview.
When you sign up online and submit your details, while the globe is rotating:
ID is verified, credit report checked, criminal history checked, private industry databases checked, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other details.
When you physically bet at their partner landline locations, whether with a teller or at self-bet kiosk, their cameras and scanners are Customs-strength. One of the main purposes SPECIFIED for that was "players who attempt to circumvent max limits with multiple bets".
The process was qualified as almost instantaneous and without discernible delay.
And all that is only what they willingly admit.

By the way, 2 years ago you could play 1000 euro stake on williamhill no problem and account lasted 1 month. Even if your balance was too high they would pay without asking for extra documents. Yes, things have changed a lot in 2 years. Were you a trader ?klopp1 wrote: I worked for williamhill and skybet up until 2 years ago, almost none of these things went on that campeones mentioned and the verifications for Hills was done in Manilla and they weren't doing any of that stuff i can assure you. I can confirm that bookmakers are making a very detailed profiling. I will give you an example. My friends are from a country were digitalization of data is very high , so bookies can find alot of info about you.
Same bookmaker -same kind of betting , small stakes.
So for the same bookie i had this experiences
A female friend -account lasted 1 week (even after losing in it)
A male friend -late 40's average income-account lasted about 2 month's
A male friend -mid 40's average to high income , he gambled a little in some shops (not the same company)- account 8 months

Or that as a beard, was setting the book up for a later win.
Especially if her play didn't show any betting on tilt; I think that's the only play that all books welcome(along with casino if available)--chasing early sports losses with ever increasing bet sizes to try and get even in one game or for the day. Others may fall under: somewhat necessary as filler, or barely tolerated as cheap customers... and then there are the undesirables--anyone who arbs, scalps, reverses, hedges, dutches is considered a parasite or even a cheater.

Female name has got to trigger such alarms. The book might have thought she had a partner collecting winnings the other way.ArberPro wrote: I can confirm that bookmakers are making a very detailed profiling. “as for bubbles, you and vinciguerrera pm and ask him what bookmaker he's made most from in arbing career, I know the answer”?
Honestly, if this is the case it would be very interesting to know how a bookmaker/their employee could know so much about a customer to be able (or even think so) to recognise him under anonymous nickname on this forum or other.

@klopp1, Is that how you thought you recognised me and knew my activity at WH when you claimed at WH thread:klopp1 wrote: I worked for williamhill and skybet up until 2 years ago

Re: Screening and auditing players
Many years ago I posted on gambling forums with a name similar to my bookie/exchange user name lol Obv these days I have changed my username. Saying that its only B365 and paddypower that let me get on even the 0.01 factor bet, 99% of my bets are exchange v exchange or sharp.
Tell you what I wish I could go back to 2004 with the knowledge and bankroll I have now, I would be a multi millionaire!!

Re: Screening and auditing players
I confirm 100% Campeones. Also I m noticing a bigger than ever before presence of these companies in industry events. 5 years ago you could see only 1-2 companies like iovation. No you see 12+. Their stands are full of people.
Funny observation. 5 years ago, you were fighting to speak to a Betfair manager. Some times they were ignoring your presence. At the same time, in Iovation stand they were just sitting waiting for someone to say hello. Now it is exactly the opposite. Betfair stands are not that popular and all these so called ''safe gambling environment'' companies are flourishing.

Companies like iovation and their industry leader playtech are smart gamblers worst enemy. Let them rise their radars, we will still find blind spots to pass.Arbusers wrote: I confirm 100% Campeones. I tend to agree with Dealer's pessimistic diagnosis:
