What was your longest downswings (please mention betting odds range). From what I remember someone mentioned somewhere a while ago that he was 1 000 000 (euro/dollars, can't remember) down a year with Pinnacle and gave up value betting because of variance. Forgot to ask what was his avarage stake but this seems pretty big downswing if that was true.

maybe they weren't even value bets and these were losing bets. Most people can't beat pinnacle, i know i haven't even tried. Anyway, if you've got a nice percentage, variance will be low compared to poker for example. My worst was being breakeven for 3 months.

Period time doesn't tell much. One can place 100 bets a month, another - 2k which make huge difference.

Volume is key. Automated bots are able to place 2000/3000 bets a month which makes variance almost disappear on a monthly basis.
