Intralot teaming up with OTE for Greek online license

Thu Oct 24, 2019 7:18 pm

Intralot has announced its plans for an online license in cooperation with OTE (Greek Telecommunications Organization). The 2 companies will form a new entity to operate in the online sports betting sector in Greece, which will be majority-controlled by OTE.
The scheme is about to achieve important synergies as Intralot has a long experience in gambling operations at global levels, while OTE is leading cable TV in Greece.
It is expected that the new entity will compete vis-a-vis the other Greek giant OPAP.
Notice that OPAP seemed to anticipate these developments by the buy out of a significant share of online rival Stoiximan.
We believe these new developments are helping competition in Greece.

After the recent developments in the greek gambling scene, it is evident that some very good chances will be there for the Greek smart bettor. It is not only the new Intralot/OTE bookmaker but the number of new entries in the market.
The Greek smart bettor should be with the finger in the trigger.

Thanks for the information, it really looks interesting.
I was wondering though, what you mean by "the number of new entries in the market"? Which entries are you referring to?
