I changed the title of the thread to reflect the question. Of course, this depends on the style of play and other circumstances, but in general, I can say that live value betting is more profitable than pregame. This is valid for arbing as well. Pregame value betting comes with the luxury of time, but live value betting comes with immense opportunity. In addition, I can say that what is left from bots, loves value betting as some 90% of their action derives from live-action.

I am stuck in pre-match betting, but if I were to start over I would choose to study live betting. In addition to what arbuser mentions, the bookmakers have more revenues in this segment and therefore this segment naturally should have more liquidity and less limitations. Bet365 have had more than 75% of it's revenue from the live segment, and in the shops it is also observed that the punters bet mostly live.

In addition, value betting in live has fewer chances to flag you as an arber/value bettor

When you bet only live, pinnacle is sharp only when you can compare it to BFExchange liquid market.

I wonder if anyone bets horse racing live? Given a typical race is around 1min or less, is it possible to valuebet live?

The overround for in-play betting on horse racing is quite bigger than pre-event. I guess in jumps races is easier because they are longer.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if there is any reliable live signal to help with identifying the value bets? for example, live video, or even live processed data stream?

If you want to occupy professionally go with live betting. It is more challenging and but if you are not familiar you may lose a lot of money. Also as someone said above will keep you accounts longer. If you do not have time, bet prematch at opening odds(take point value traps) or win the closing line.

Live Value betting is silver. Pregame Value betting is Diamond. (Not even gold!)

Live value betting is the best right now.Pregame has also value, but i am sure the majority of serious bettors are stick to live. But we should take point that live betting has a ton of mug bettors which is good for us.Anyway both ways are good if you win.

Nice comparison. Also we should take point that live value betting is much more time consuming than prematch. This is a major difference.
