€75,000 confiscated by Brokerstorm / Whitehorse (Case resolved)

Sun Jan 10, 2021 11:43 am

Hi All

Happy new year to you. I'd like to pass on some disturbing news relating to Brokerstorm agent using the Whitehore label.

I created an account in December 2020 depositing €1,800 via BTC. All seemed fine and the whitehorse exchange was good for backing and laying.

I made a few withdrawals that were processed very quickly (24-48 hours). I got lucky with a few bets and managed to get my account up to €75k.

I subsequently requested two separate withdrawals of c. €10,000 leaving my account balance at around €55,000.

The withdrawals never arrived despite me contacting customer services, leaving the outstanding balance at €75,000.

Yesterday i found that i was unable to place any further bets, later that day i received an email from Brokerstrom stating that my account had be suspended after an investigation found I had duplicate accounts! They went on to explain that this was infringement of our terms and conditions - quoting an attachment which has been recently edited to include the clause. These terms and conditions were not available when i registered.

In the email they state the would refund my initial deposit (€1,8k) which they have not done. I had thought brokerstorm was a reputable company with good products, i know i shouldn't have kept a large balance with the broker.

I'm in talks with a solicitor as how to best persue the balance, but if anyone here can i help I would be prepared to part with a percentage of any funds released

All the best

I think the only way is to report the matter to the police in their country as soon as possible. They are probably from Greece. Of course, you must collect all the evidence - printscreens and all correspondence (e-mails). Overall, I am disappointed that Betfair is making deals with such shady agents. Everything indicates that basically anyone can run their own Betfair website and steal all the money deposited by customers.

I have serious doubts about this statement.

Seems they are located at Montenegro.

If you google that name on facebook, the only profile matched leads to an albanian living in greece. Maybe it is coincidence though, propably is not the same guy

Are they licensed from someone/somewhere? I searched in their website but couldn't find anything mentioned. Always tough to go after an agent.

Very difficult legally. But you can go after them by ruining their reputation. They would lose many to be clients just for one client.

Will this bring back the 75000 euros to Rosa123?
I believe one must fight first for his/her well deserved money, and if he is right the damaged reputation will follow suit.

Yes it will push them to answer him.

For now I would focus on this one as it would provide a very good argument for the OP. Did you keep any screenshot of the T&Cs when you registered your account? Even if you didn't, did you use any wayback machine to see what the T&Cs were before they locked you out? Did you receive any e-mail or any pop up message asking you to accept anything like that?

This is disgusting!

I made deposits of about 5,000€ into Whitehorse and lost them. I won't be wagering with them anymore.

A group needs to be created in order to tackle these cheats. Hit them on their business and inform as many players as possible about these whitelabel cheats on public platforms.

Thank you @wolfie + @arbusers for your help.

Unfortunately i didn't keep a copy of the T&Cs at the point of registering. However, it is pretty obvious they have adjusted them recently. I attach a screenshot from a pdf they sent me. The clause they are referring to is in a different font to the rest of the document and was uploaded in December 2020!

Although the funds are rightfully mine at this point I'd happily settle for even half my €75k - but i'm struggling to get a response

Thanks

It is getting more complicated. Is there any term in their Terms of Use allowing 1 account per household?
