There is talk that the UK gambling commission are looking to impose a maximum loss on all online betting accounts of as little as £100 a month.
If these draconian measures are introduced then it would be the end of matched betting, arbitrage betting and just about any other profitable betting strategy.
Maybe if everyone objects by completing the survey at the link below, we can stop this madness
consult.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/author/seeking-views-on-how-gambling-companies-interact-w/consultation/intro/
The survey ends on Tuesday 9th February 2021 so don't miss the deadline. Voice your opinion now and spread the news. We need as many people as possible to object.
Is this the end of online betting?

Re: Is this the end of online betting?
I wish it was just slots but it's not. It's ALL online gambling and the limits they are looking to impose are very restrictive. Here is an extract from their site showing what they are planning.
How much money do most people have to spend after paying their bills?
We think that the best way to help operators decide when to check in with a customer is to look at how much most people have left to spend after they have paid for essentials like rent / mortgage, bills and food. This is called discretionary income
When we look at the data it shows that the majority of people have less than £500 a month to spend on non-essentials. Some of this might be spent on gambling but we would also expect people to spend it on a range of things, like holidays, clothes and other leisure activities. If someone was spending all of their money on gambling then this might indicate that they were experiencing harm.
This has the makings of a disaster for arbers and match bettors so I urge everyone to complete the survey. It can be done anonymously if you wish.
Once any draconian measures are put in place it will be too late. It's highly unlikely they will be reversed. The best course of action is to protest now and stop them being introduced.

Re: Is this the end of online betting?
Only in Europe i guess but it has been downtrend for some time now so nothing new.
Truth is that most gambling companies are now focusing towards South Africa and S-N America. Due to the new market situation(upcoming) in the states and the possibilities in South America. They will implement the same anti sharp tactics of course but with different playfield, opportunities arise. The online gambling in EU will decline for sharp bettors and new opportunities will emerge from above countries.
Thankfully your statement only affects gambling in UK so other parts in EU should be fine for some time. Nevertheless, downtrend has begun with less opportunities for sharp bettors. Would not really come into this field in 5-years if im based in EU lol

Re: Is this the end of online betting?
These are very good news for the offline betting industry - at least as long as no identification is required. What strikes me when talking to different mug punters in the shop betting environment, is that there is a very common archetype of person, who is banned from online betting due to frequent losses and the gambling companies adherence to responsible gambling. If further restrictions are imposed upon this group, they will soon start flocking the shops and casinos.

Re: Is this the end of online betting?
There are ways around this as well. Especially if you are multi accounting. Just a matter of patience that will generate much higher % returns. But this UKGC sh*t is just a hoax imo
