Before tackling the Matched Betting situation in the US, I would like to give some context.
President Bush Jr. signed a law in 2006 which banned US Banks from processing Internet gambling activities affecting around 12 to 20 million gamblers and smart bettors. This spawned a downward spiral of federal bans, that left gamblers stranded, forcing them to find ways of juking the rules and establish gambling networks abroad.
Nowadays, the situation has shifted, the bans have been lifted and as of 2018 any state that wishes can legalise sports betting. We are seeing a natural increase in the number of states that accept it.
Betting websites that offer registration bonuses
Due to the fact that the laws in the US are basically decentralised, every state has the liberty to legalise at their own pace, and conditions may vary depending on your location, I recommend that you get information regarding the specific laws of the state that you want to bet from.
This further means that I cannot access all the bookmakers from 1 state, but rather just recommend the most important bookies that offer nice bonuses for you to play with.
List of bookies:
DraftKings - $1050 free
WilliamHill - $30 of free bets
PointsBet - $500 free bets
BetNow - 100% up to $500
BetMGM - $600 risk-free bets
BetRiver - $250 deposit match
Unibet - 100% deposit match up to $25
FOX Bet - $500 risk-free bets
SugarHouse - $250 deposit match
Bovada - 50% up to $250

BetOnline - 50% up to $1000
Borgata - 500% up to $100

*Be advised, the bonuses are subject to change.

Less common: American Express, Discover, Check, PayNearMe, Online Bill Pay, Skrill.
Can you do Matched Betting in the US?
The answer is YES, you can definitely use Matched Betting strategies in the US. But the main issue is that you will need access to Bet Exchanges which work restrictively. Currently Betfair is used only in Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey through its subsidiaries called TVG.
The US laws can be incredibly restrictive in some places, diminishing the feasibility of successful strategies. There are of course situations where you could utilise off-shore based bookies, but be aware as it might be deemed a violation of certain laws. There are some states in which internet providers prohibit off-shore websites.
The industry is booming at the moment, experts are calling it the new “El Dorado”, be sure to jump on the train and make some nice money and also try staying on the safe side of potential risks by correctly informing yourself. Also take note, that due to the fact that the industry is only just starting to reach a new legal level, there are many aspects that are subject to change.

Re: Can you do Matched Betting in the US?
Matched betting in the USA is a total mess for 2 reasons.
1. The cost of living and the average salary is so high that makes it almost unbearable to create a net like the rest of the countries.
2. Legal problems all over that comes with an additional cost. And the USA is not a country you can play with.
I 'd stay away. Only the individual level can make money, but still #1 is a discouraging factor.

Every state is a different case. Some states more generous than others.campeones wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 8:11 amMatched betting in the USA is a total mess for 2 reasons.

A USA ID would get 9000$ in bonuses. Not bad! Reminds me of Greece back in 2002.

I am also examining the possibilities to move offshore. These bonuses are lucrative.
Anyone with Vegas experience? Are there bonuses and good odds from the hotels and the machines?

I read a recent report and I quote from it:
The amount of money an individual player in New Jersey can take from operator acquisition offers is $18,575.This sum can be achieved by taking advantage of offers across 36 casino and sports betting operators within their terms and conditions.
As you understand this is only for New Jersey. I am surprised people do not discuss about the possibilities of the US market.

Offshore bookies are a different story, about them I could write a book -:)
Some of offshore bookie I asked directly why they stopped offering bonuses for players outside US and Canada and why are they so afraid of EU action :-)
And I even got the answer …
Re: Can you do Matched Betting in the US?
Hard to get US profiles as Campeones mention above, tax issue, connection issue-geo thing (remote or residential vpn and proxy won't work-but ther is one solution) - this is part regarding legal bookies from US.blackjack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:59 amI read a recent report and I quote from it:

Was wondering what that answer would be.
Campeones is saying that it is possible on the individual level. Of course you are right, VPN and proxies will not work.
@BlackJack also wondering how are these bonuses distributed among bookmakers, casinos and slots.

It was my mistake to start smart betting. Instead, I could go for casino advantage betting where the money is bigger and easier. Some people say that poker would be even better, but who knows?

Re: Can you do Matched Betting in the US?
We monitor the US market very thoroughly. Not only the country as a whole but every state individually.
Yes the US is an Eldorado and the educated US bettor has a window of opportunity to become rich. Maybe it is a surprise for many but this window of opportunity becomes bigger and bigger because new bookmaker domestic and international are entering the market. Almost every second day we hear about a new name in a new state. But you were discussing about New Jersey, so let’s talk about New Jersey. The estimation of Blackjack is wrong…
The US GDP per capita is $70200. The New Jersey GDP per capita is $64800. To picture the situation better bonuses from NJ alone, represent 31% of GDP per capita in this state.
I will provide the equivalent for European countries so you understand about the size of the opportunity that New Jersey alone offers.
- It is like offering £14420 bonuses in the UK. Today, the UK bettor receives less than £3000 as incentives. The last time the UK bettor enjoyed £14000 was back in 2014 at the top of the performance of the UK id.
- It is like offering €6000 to a Greek gambler. Last time bookmakers offered 6K to Greek gamblers was… never.
- It is like offering €15400 to a German gambler. Last time this happened was… never.
- Last time this % of GDP per capita was given to any European (UK excluded) was… never.
So you understand the size of the opportunity. A US bettor from New Jersey could clean up with family and relatives an easy $200.000 within a 2 months period of time before moving to prosecutable levels. And this is in one state alone namely New Jersey.
The size of opportunity is never seen before in the gambling business.
We decided not to expand our business in the USA. And that was a decision taken by the Ownership and the legal team of our company. These are some of the most educated persons in this business. They know better.

The amount is far bigger than that. I am sure BlackJack refers to a 2022 report. Today there are even more bookmakers casinos and bonuses in NJ. The amount is far bigger than $20K.
