Sharp Bookies for soccer

Thu May 27, 2021 11:37 am

Hi all,

I have been doing Arb/Value betting for the past 3 months, the first 2 months have been successful with pretty good ROI based on over 3k bets. (sorry didnt compile excel)

But this recent month, my results have been poor; could be due to variance. (lost all my winnings, thus breakeven now)

I have been using M8bet (IBC) and SBO as a basebook against my softbook (local Bookie). I'm based in Asia.

I sometimes find the odds or IBC and SBO contrast one another and when I compare the odds with Pinancles, Pinnacles odds are in synth with my soft book instead.

Which means there may be something wrong with my strategy. I didn't use a scanning service as I am using a local bookie (less known).

I mainly bet Asian handicap. Pre and live. Mainly value betting

1) Are IBC/ SBO still sharp for soccer? I know they used to be.
2) If they are no longer sharp, which platform should i use? Betfair? Pinnacles?

My bet limits are pretty high, up to $5k usd. And I am using a bankroll of $150k, around 0.5% of roll per unit.
Just wanna make sure I'm doing the right move.

Thank you in advance

Well SBO definitely isn't as sharp as they used to be, so wouldn't trust them too much.

Are you also sure that your local bookmaker is a soft? They don't sound very soft if you are allowed to bet 5K USD and you're in profit after 3.000 bets.

Yes, the local bookie have some extremely soft lines at times against SBO and M8bet (IBC). All along i have been using SBO and IBC as the "Sharp" as a benchmark towards my Local Bookie.

Apparently ibc/sbo may be not so sharp after all.
Which bookie will be the most sharp for Soccer Asian handicap? Pinnacle?

Except for main 1x2 (or ah) matches, where probably ibc and sbo are sharp, I can confirm that betting
against these two bookies is not a good idea. Recent years I won on Sbobet, then I quit because of low
limits and void bets and I still winning on Maxbet.
I keep losing at Pinnacle, even if not like past years and on exchanges so if I were you, I'd bet on my softs
only against these last two bookies.
Then, why don't you use oddsmath (dropping odds) and try to use that strategy?
If I didn't arb, I would do that way for sure.

Thank you Alealeale and Kustef for your valuable advices!

I am beginning to take a look at Penta88, and find that their odds are pretty sharp, what are your views on penta88?
They soft or sharp?
