Hi all,
The Asianconnect webpage claims they are regulated and licenced by the Government of Netherlands Antilles, a nation which was 'dissolved on 10 October 2010' according to Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netherlands_Antilles
In the Asianconnect T&Cs there is no specific Alternative Dispute Resolution body mentioned. What is mentioned is that 'mediation' is required before legal action and that the applicable law would be that of Curacao. They also mention that an ADR in such a case would be appointed by Asiaconnect itself
From reading a few experiences on here, it seems Curacao doesn't respond to customers seeking dispute resolution.
All begs the question, in practice are they in fact regulated (or licensed even) at all, and is there any recourse if/when players' are being blocked from withdrawing funds or winnings are not paid out?
I ask because I'd like access to Pinnacle odds through this broker, but being from the UK I'm kinda used to the imperfect, but nonetheless consistently imperfect regulation of the UK gambling commission, so at least one knows that one will get paid eventually (albeit after some cowboy moves from some of the UK operators that don't want to pay out).
Thanks for any help with this.

Re: Is Asiaconnect actually regulated?
Maybe it's a good idea to look up where Pinnacle are regulated themselves
And yeah, a Curacao license isn't worth the paper it is printed on with regards to customer safety. They are currently doing an overhaul of their system, but once they have completed that it will either still be worthless or all the betting companies will leave. Companies are licensed in Curacao because it's cheap and it's easy, if they wanted to go through the hassle of protecting their customers they would be licensed somewhere else. It's a risk, take it or leave it.

Re: Is Asiaconnect actually regulated?
Anyone able to quantify how much of risk it is using Asiaconnect? The experiences provided on forums are shall we say, anecdotal?
The question is how often do they basically just screw people and keep winnings even after providing documentation.

there is very little risk, especially if you get referred by arbusers. Asianconnect has been around for a long time and many members here use it on a daily basis

Re: Is Asiaconnect actually regulated?
Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, Antigua, you name it, all these places means absolutely nothing when it comes to licensing and regulating gambling business.
When you start any business with an agent, you already take for granted that you are in a grey area. Sometimes you can be in a black area. Agent style of bookmaking is adding an additional layer of risk to the client. People that select to use agents are doing so after calculating their overall risks, including the additional layer. After this calculation, they still believe it worths taking the risk.
Here in this forum we support 4 agents that we believe can cover the needs of a smart bettor. Contrary to what you will find in the mainstream forums, we believe the risk is moderate. Referred by arbusers members received a very good service so far, and we believe the vast majority of our members will confirm that. We are an additional layer of protection, but we are not supporting any US and UK bettor using these services.
However, if you come from the UK as you say, I strongly suggest that you don't use any agent at all. The UK still has some strong institutions and a regulation that forbids the use of agent style of betting. There are other countries in this world, that has no regulation, and no clear mention of the status of agent/broker style of betting. These countries are considered to be more agent friendly than the UK.
Bottom line, don't do it. Unless you move to a country that allows it.
Good luck with everything you do.
