Hello everyone,I'm completely new to the scene.I learned about value and arbs betting about a month ago and I really liked the idea
I want to do it for a long term,even if possible making it my main source of income.But the more I read the more
I get thumb down,because a lot of people say its just not possible anymore.
The bookies limit your account very fast doesn't matter if you value or arbs they just don't like winners.
Is it still possible to do it for a long period of time or is it just a short way to make some bucks?
And which of the two methods do you suggest to a noob like me?

It is still possible to make some serious bucks in this field but only if you develop unique skill/strategy which will differentiate you from the rest of the pack. Some people spent years watching this industry, learning its secrets and developed their unique strategies. Others, including myself, focused on developing custom tech which gives us edge. Then there are those who focused on building large network of people and multiply their earnings through multi-accounting.
But if you just plan to purchase subscription from some alert service and do what majority does then don't expect it to generate you a lot of income. For most of us it took a lot of time and effort to reach that level where betting become primary occupation. This is definitely not a get rich quick industry and is actually pretty stressful and intellectually challenging work.
So, definitely keep it as a small side project while you are learning and if in time you see that you become good at it and have passion for it then you can start working on it full time. Just don't have too high expectation for it, this industry is indeed in decline and nobody knows for sure what's going to happen with it in a near future. So it is pretty risky to rely on this industry as a main income source which will last for many more years.

As long as we have echanges and competition , there will always be value in betting , some people will win and some will loose depending on their skills , and some will take a percentage for their services.
Only if they regulate it like comunist countries and you cant find a way out all value will stop.
But its best practice as the above has sayed to still have your job , will make you less stressed and you could take bigger risks for bigger profits.

Personally I prefer value betting over arbitrage as it usually helps accounts last longer. There are two ways to find arbs/value bets without using publicly available alert services. Some develop their own models to determine true probability. Such people are often referred to as sharp players. This is really advanced field and there are very few such experts. Another way is to hire programmers to build your own custom scanning. However, this is also very difficult to accomplish which will require either a lot of effort or big expenses from you.
