Re: Local bookmakers and street arbing.
Well be surprised as I have done it in December 2012, no calls and no odds changes. I did not say it was an Arb, I said it was a normal bet, how would the girls behind the counter no if it was an arb or not? They just scan your coupon and take your cash. Where are you from G?

Well in a nutshell, the bets you've placed have not been arbs - that is why they have let you have that amount on. Try and get 1k on an arb next time you're in the shop - let us know how you get on. Oh..and watch out for price cuts (they don't tell you beforehand...you'll only notice once you have your betting slip back )

There is no way a UK bookmaker, or any serious bookie elsewhere, will take your bet at reduced odds without a warning.
Re: Local bookmakers and street arbing.
If you can get a normal 1K bet you should be able to get an 1K arb, provided you act fast. They do not know in advance when their prices would lead to arbitrage.G wrote: Well in a nutshell, the bets you've placed have not been arbs - that is why they have let you have that amount on. With regards to reduced odds...are you talking from personal experience? (Because I am)
Re: Local bookmakers and street arbing.
You don't know if their price will lead to an arb in advance either? The majority of games on which they have the best price, will have limits of £200 for example, anything above will be subject to a PTL call.qbet wrote:If you can get a normal 1K bet you should be able to get an 1K arb, provided you act fast. you might want to obscure the Fixed Asset label on the monitor to reduce the likelihood of someone identifying the shop in which the photo was taken

Re: Local bookmakers and street arbing.
hi guys, i'm a new user of arbuser. i'm from italy and here there are a lot of italian sport corner. limits are low but you can repeat the bet. i write because i need information about the UK betting shops. i had read that in UK the betting shops have fees on winnings ,is it truth?. if i bet for exaplme 500EUR on under 2,5 in a willhill corner with odd 2.0 (eur format) how much is my winnings? is 500EUR*2.0=1000EUR? without fees?. if the answer is "yes" i'll take the first flight direction william hill shops!! a will hill with medium limits is a dream for an arber.
thank you, and sorry for my english.

Arbing / Sharbing in Greece
OPAP (online site www.pamestoixima.gr) is the one and only company which have shops in Greece. No tax on betting but terrible odds (around 11% - 13% comparing to Asians). There are no arbing or surbing opportunities here.
Assuming you are betting more than 500 euro the owner has to call for authorisation to accept the bet and sometimes they are not accepting it at all.
If you will earn more than 1000 euro then you have to go to the bank and take your money. Unfortunatelly due to capital controls you are allowed to withdraw 420 euro per week or 840 euro for the next 15 days. Day 0 is Saturday morning. That means you have your money in the bank, not in your pocket. For those who will think that they can deposit money at betdaq/Smarkets/Betfair and the rest I have to inform them that they can't. Gabling is not allowed to online bookmakers except the 24 that are already in Greece. Also, you cannot send money to other country since there is a limit of 1000 euro per person per month.
The conclusion is obvious. You will bring money to Greece --> They will stuck here.
