Long on ETH

Where to invest the surplus of funds

There is a clear divergence between ETH and BTC starting from the end of February.
BTC managed to create new ATH but ETH failed to follow.
There is no clear reason why this happened. At the same time, Twitter and Youtube majorettes are all screaming for a bullish ETH, some of the them dully repeating a 10.000$ ETH before the end of this market cycle.
Of course, I can't reject any figure as cryptos are specialising in achieving targets beyond any imagination, but I prefer being rational here, like any other investment.
This rationality tells me that some big ETH holders (probably early adopters and people close to the core) are selling massively their positions, and this is the only reason why ETH didn't follow BTC.

Have a look at the BTC post. It is very much relevant with ETH. I didn't want to create duplicate posts.

Thank you.

It looks like ethereum is going to the moon. Do you guys think it is another wave of hype or do you think they've actually managed to build something useful and it can become sustainable? It looks like a lot of institutions start to do some business on their platform, even banks.

I believe we should see ethereum in the longrun.I made the big mistake not to buy a lot when the price was 1.300 before 4 months.Right is going to the moon like dogecoin.4000 usd maybe is too much right now.

I think a good stategy is see ethereum/bitcoin like spy,try to buy at different times(example every 2-3 months). If i have followed this strategy,i will have bought at 1300usd.

And of course when we see big drop(crash market),we should buy a lot.Patience is the key.

Just some thoughts.

Tesla buying BTC is huge news. Of course the news will not influence our decisions as we are based on our analysis only.
But I have 2 questions for discussion.

1. What if Tesla as a company starts having troubles? This announcement looks like the last trick.
2. What if SEC says that BTC and cryptos can't be a part of the balance sheet of any publicly traded company? What will happen to Microstrategy and Tesla? What will they do then with their coins?

All opinions are welcome.

Firstly i must say that i missed your crypto analysis , please keep them coming!
Since you haven't write anything for a while i suppose you are holding your last announced positions ?
Now , regarding your "what if's" they are surely genuine concerns , as they exist many more like them , however eventhough i acknowledge the extreme speculative nature of this space imho with bitcoin's and ethereum's mcap combined  to more than 1 tn $ ,  they are already too big to fail ! Surely will be corrections and huge dips but i just can't see a total failure of these two ! Not anymore! Having said that i also believe that bitcoin's dominance of crypto mcap will fall below 50% (maybe even 40%) during this bull cycle before rising again when the bears inevitably come.

It's very possible indeed that we are approaching an important top but something tells me that maybe Bitcoin will not attract the main lights of this stage!

Once again arbuser's analysis proved to be valuable.
Indeed we have left behind us an importand top for BTC and consequently we are in the process of a major correction
Now the importand question which must be answered is this:
Was 65k the top of this bull cycle or this was just an importand local top ?
In my mind we are approaching the "double top" scenario and it's probable that we will see another bigger top in the coming months before the bull cycle really ends
As i have already said i believe that BTC will not be the protagonist of this phase of the cycle , i thing ETH has much bigger chances to play that role
!

Many times I like to look into the past !
So i digged in the "Long on BTC" thread to find these posts of mine
index.php?topic=7174.315

In fact maybe i was a little bit conservative by saying that BTC's mcap will fall even to 40%
Back then it seemed impossible but right now it's 38.9% and falling.
I was also right about ETH outperforming BTC
Having said that i believe that eventhough in the long term ETH will do fine , however in the short term it's starting to be overpriced against BTC to my taste
and exchanging ETH for BTC right now might be a smart move!

PS1: My previous posts are the bolded ones
PS2: Obviously it's not a financial advice , just my thoughts

From me really well done for this,as you predict two moves.I hope some members follow your advice

To say the true, when you wrote this and because the ethereum was not too high,i thought to buy ethereum but i do not have cash to do this.Again was my second bad move after January

Anyway,4 months passed and i have not bought any ethereum. And yes from these 2 coins, i also agree that bitcoin is the value right now.

I need to wait for crash and push money into ethereum. For this reason is too good to have cash all the time, and not have all of your money into bookmakers.

Maybe we are near to correction of 3000-3.500.Who knows.

Congrats on the call.
I exchanged my last ETH to BTC at 0.0488 gaining a 70% move. Of course, if I would keep them until today I would be doubling my money, but who cares who wins?
If I had forgotten the exchange to, I would exchanged them today.

To change ETH to btc now is probably a very good idea. But buying time is long go, becouse i see some members mentioning buying ETH at 1,3k.. We should buy this thinks when no one speak about crypto

Do you think Polkadot will be the next Ethereum?

I seriously doubt it. In my opinion they don't bring anything new that Ethereum doesn't have. They want to provide better scalability but so does Ethereum 2.0 and I actually think Ethereum might be first to achieve it. Ethereum has large community and pretty rich infrastructure as well as some successful use cases like DeFi and NFTs. Polkadot on the other hand does not even have working mainnet. So I would rather stick with Ethereum but not a financial advise.

Couldn't aggree more to that!
By no means DOT can be considered superior to ETH!
It's hyped yes! But don't have the fundmentals nor the network effects to challenge ETH!

i would like to switch from bitcoinb to ethereum for crypto betting, but i've read that it takes up to 20 confirmations. Does anyone bet with ethereum? How much waiting time is approximately 20 confirmations before you can make a withdrawal?
