Weight of money (WOM) is a term that defines the amount of money within a market in back or lay sides. By adding all amounts at back side you can find the back WOM.
By adding all amounts at lay side you can find the lay WOM.
Extract one from another and then you see the actual WOM and the influence it should have in the market.
In order to have better results that reflect reality to a larger extend, every back/lay amount should be multiplied by the ticks of the distance between the back/lay frontier.
These last years, the WOM plays a sneaky role as traders with a lot of resources are placing a lot of money at a certain side with the intention to influence the decisions of other players.

The way I see it, Mollybet Exchange will need to be used by many players in order to provide a decent product, or, they will have to pump their own liquidity to make it competitive with other exchanges like Betfair and Smarkets.
Mollybet platform is already very complicated for the average gambler, so I don't see any stupid money coming in. Trying to extract money from other sharks is not an easy task.
Also, it is not clear to me the Dark mode. Dark bets will give an advantage to Mollybet owners who will be able to selectively keep some of these bets for them selves when there is an obvious mistake from the player. This is pretty much what Betfair does for years.
Just my 2c.

Interesting development. Do we think they will ever offer horse racing on this service and why have they up until this point avoided it? Seems odd.

i been using molly a bit now. i reached 100k volume with lay option only.

It seems molly doesent have shared liability, would be nice thing to have.

My current lay stats by volume: most used bookie bdaq, 15k volume behind bf. 3rd place molly itself but out of 100k only 1500€ matched there.

But lets be real, its new thing and that 1500€ is still extra for me as without it i would have gotten worse price somewhere else at that time.

Frankly, I dont see this happening any time soon. First, because they stated they want to integrate to all football markets before the World Cup (November 22), secondly, because there is no horse racing over their old platform.

I completely understand the logic behind every feature, and I agree with arbusers that Mollybet needs many new clients who will contribute with their volumes and bets.
But...
Is Mollybet platform and exchange easy to navigate for the mug bettor?
Is Mollybet platform and exchange available to the retail bettors?
The answer to both questions is no. Mollybet should find a way to bring their products closer to their potential clients.
I understand they avoid KYC (and KYB) by using agents like BetInAsia as middlemen, but if they want to grow big, they will need to change their business model.

I don't think mollybet platform and exchange are for the retail clients. Their business model is clearly B2B and not B2C. They leave the hard work for the agents. They have an interest for the agents to grow, and then they know they can grow together.

I am wondering what more do they offer compared to Pinnacle, Betfair and the others.

They offer better odds, most of the times.
Indeed they need bigger volumes for the exchange to be established among competitors. If I was a Gambit (mollybet parent company) manager, I would look for ways to achieve bigger customer captivity. Inevitably, this would lead to bigger volumes and then more profits.

Tbh i would look to make product attractive (best in value) for matched bettors. Molly is good choice for people outside of UK and guess what, people outside uk have limited access to exchanges.

Avarage picture for non uk user / for uk person:

mb - offers some eu countries their service, very small amount countries can get 0% via deals. Outside UK accounts 0% wont last long tho as they will make few months later "business decision" to put you normal 4% comission.
2% if just user, 0% with deals. if u dont trade u will stay 0%.

smarkets - not availb. for most countries.
0% with deals. very easy to get.

bf - 5% or more.
uk people can choose 2%

bdaq - not availb. for most countries.
there are deals that can provide you 0% account. if you are on comission there are still lots of 0% "saturdays and so on promos"

orbit - for non uk people. Not bad thing. comission usually starts from 3% (sure some users can get 2,5 or something). bf odds but personally after i used it year+ i know i wouldent trust them with trading (there were plenty of times website had problems when lots of games were going on).

______________________

So why would you want mb-s in your product?
1) they get value on bookmakers, hedge their risks by leaving lot of value to exchanges (its much higher ev for them not to lay their bets but of course variance + possibility to make much higher bets thanks to that is another story).
2) because they do mostly lay betting they push up back price. That should attract other style bettors.

But of course for them its necessary to have good price lays (not too wide spread).

Things i wish molly had currently?
1) shared liability.
2) easy way to adjust price of my "bet" that got half matched. (200€ bet @ odds 4.302 50€ got matched. i can see next best price is 4.322 instead of canceling my 50€ matched / 150€ unmatched bet and entering new sum on 4.322 let me just edit that current bet). This thing has already cost me some money because i have taken worse price to get amount i wish (and forgot to cancel same market bet on better price that didnt get fully matched at first). Later get matched and put me into situation where i way too much money on certain outcome.

Not to open a new thread, I simply ask you (you're apparently very well informed about most of the sporting exchanges), do you know something about the BDAQ's future intentions, will the BDAQ sporting exchange apply at last more different policies for non-UK customers (enhanced BDAQ availability for non-UK customers, much more liquidity, better horse racing liquidity including US and Aussie, better odds, odds and liquidity attempts comparable to Betfair and so forth). Some months ago, the BDAQ founder Dermot Desmond purchase BDAQ from BWIN/Entain, and declared big changes, but no news for BDAQ's new strategy or I'm missing something?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Rationale for the question: I still notice some unique characteristics in BDAQ, hopefully, they won't be liquidated by the management.

Through matched betting affiliates like Oddsmonkey etc.

The platforms do this on the assumption you will lose on exchange. You won't last long if you're planning on value betting.

Hopefully it was a trial appearance and they will come back to mollybet soon because their odds were pretty good and I would place a lot of bets via smarkets
@ Hardcore,
It seems like after SMK's initial testing appearance and later disappearing, they already have a stable presence here on the Molly platform, with good odds and a vast cover of championships. Let's see what'll happen.
