Skrill - Account locked

Wed Sep 04, 2013 6:55 am

I am long time VIP vith unlimited account, and Skrill suddenly asks me for ID and address verifiaction and locked my account for withdrawals. I provided them same day with passport and untility bill photos. And they are checking them for 2+ weeks now. I email them and got generic answer - your account is under standard security audit.
They seem not caring about my inability to arb and fact that  i have paid for arbitrage services. Anyone has experience like this, should I start worrying or its normal to check VIP for 2 weeks and more?

Send me a pm with your account number. If your account is referred by me, your issue will be resolved within hours. If it is not referred by me, I will see what can be done.

I did same thing 1 year ago,had account  in us$ and wonted to switch to euro.
Second account is forbiden to have ,only way is ask them to close your account and you will open a new one on another currency.I did same thing.
You have to use another email address because with old one you wont be able to open new account.

If you are VIP it's not required to close your first currency account, you can keep both, but in any case you have to contact them.

Finally I got myself together and called them. And after 20 minutes my account is back again.

I'm not seeing much of a change for Silver and above VIP members?

It's quite a change for FX fees. It used to be 1.75% for all all VIP levels but now only diamond members enjoy that benefit. Silver VIP rates start at 2.25%. In comparison Neteller Gold members pay only 1.5% and Gold Neteller is somewhat equivalent to Silver Skrill in terms of transfer volume. At least we got an early notice.

It is the MB to MB fee that it is becoming even X20 in some cases.

The previous status quo was offering a max fee of 0.5 euros, no matter what you send. Now there is a cap of 10 euros. If you send 1000 euros, you will pay 10 euros, and not 0.5.

@Arbusers, why did Skrill sent an email a week ago with the new fees, stating; ''send money; 1% fee capped at €1''?

I think it's because 1 EUR fee will be for VIPs and 10 EUR for standard account. I read this info on other forum where user got this  answer from skrill support.

It is still too much, having to pay 10€ for 1,000€ sent from a non-VIP account. Totally unacceptable, there is no need to protect them. But as I said, thank God we have NETELLER!
Disgusting greedy move by Skrill. As a long-term customer, I am disappointed a lot.
