Arbing in Belgium

Sat Dec 28, 2024 2:01 pm

Hi there,

I recently got into arbitrage gambling and am enjoying it so far.
Right now I only feel comfortable arbing at official bookmakers in Belgium (where the sector is rather strictly regulated), because it was my conviction that my funds/balance would always be safe (and withdrawable) even after I got limited/restricted.
Profits have been slow, but steady - even after paying for my Surebet membership obviously - .. however, I already found myself limited at one sportsbook (Bwin) after one week.
Even after getting limited, I luckily experienced no issues whatsoever withdrawing the balance to my bank account.

As for future perspective; I'm trying to gather some more information.
- I heard Pinnacle never limits users, however it's not allowed to sign up for as a Belgian. Is it a bad idea to sign up and deposit using a VPN?
- I heard the betting exchanges (Betfair, Smarkets, Matchbook) never limited either, but same caveat as Pinnacle: do you get banned if they find out you use a VPN?

Do let me know about any other opportunities.
I'm still new to this and eager to learn.
I'm really disciplined and have lots of spare time on my hands, so arbing as a concept really speaks to me.

Before anything else, let me welcome you to our forum and wish all the best success for you in this business.

Indeed, Pinnacle is not limiting players. To my knowledge, Pinnacle doesn't accept clients from Pinnacle. Have a look at the pinnacle restricted countries. Therefore, by opening a Pinnacle account you are looking for troubles. Even if you use a VPN or any other trick, you will have to pass the KYC process where they will find out your Belgian passport and address.

Also, Betfair, Matchbook and Smarkets do not limit bettors too. But will you be accepted as a client? Do they legally operate in Belgium? To my knowledge, Betfair is not happy seeing their clients using a VPN.

I know for sure that Belgium has one of the toughest regulation in the world, up to a point where even e-wallets are not advertised openly in the country. Thus anything not having a state license might be a problem. An agent would be an excellent solution to your needs, but again, most probably this is against the national law in Belgium.

Other than that, I know some of the bookmakers in Belgium are very slow to react, probably they are taking a nap. Also, it really worths exploring the sharbing scene in the country.

Thanks a lot for the advice, much appreciated!

Regarding sharbing: I live in a smaller town where there aren't too many shops - and the ones that are in the vicinity are unfortunately not the type of facility one would enjoy spending time at.

I see you mention an agent; what do you mean by this exactly, please?

Do you really have the luxury to let an opportunity go? Most probably because you are a newbie, you still don't get the fact that every opportunity must be milked on the spot, before the train departs, or the bird flies away. BTW, you might find the sharbing persona interesting.

As for the agent, go on search in the forum.
