Hello to all,
I am (at the moment was :-() professional Betfair trader. Meaning I make my living that way. My country was recently restricted and my account closed after some 15+ years. I tried temporary to switch on Betdaq (which is legal for me) but found it impossible to trade due to low liquidity. I have found a friend who offered his BF account (based in UK) as he is not using it much and I thought that + VPN would do the trick. However my other friend with a similar situation warned me that Betfair just shutdown his account because of VPN use. Everything worked perfectly for a month, depositing, withdrawing etc. And suddenly, no warnings, no discussion and no chance of reopening.
So now I'm looking into options other than VPN. I'm not good at tech but I know about VPS and I know some people use proxy...but then I run into things like dedicated IP, residential, static, rotating... and I get lost.
I would like to find the solution that is least likely to be detected/suspicious by Betfair. I'm not looking for the cheapest solution, I'm looking for the best.
Also I know there is software like Bet Angel that has VPS option. Would that be the best way to go? I don't use that software but ready to learn if needed.
I would be very appreciated for any advice regarding this.
Thank you so much.

Bet Angel offers a VPS service(I think it is close to Betfair's HQs). Might be worth having a look at it.

Re: VPS or something else
You have to build your own private VPN server. Your server, in this case a a miniPC + Linux/or Windows + Wireguard/OPenVPN runing on it.
The server should be based physically in the UK, at your friends house. You have to carefully check his internet setup firsthand (Teamviewer/any desk) because in UK the Internet is in tragic situation, in Virgins case - no way to forward ports requiring for running the server.
Look at the freelancers website Upwork etc. - there are some really knowledgeable people who will do the setup for you. Don't look for mass solution - hire an expensive developer/helper. He will do it for you for sure. Test first at home to see how it works, all the setups/ setting before shipping abroad.

Is there any other somewhat "less perfect" option that can still have a good chance of success?
Like using some UK VPS provider as I'm sure others are using? And if so what are the things I should look for?
Like dedicated ip or residential or rotating etc?
Thank you.
Re: VPS or something else
First of all thank you so much for taking time and such a detailed answer. I know I've asked for the best possible option, however I'm not sure asking him to physically host something in his home is realistic.Tonton wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 4:28 pmYou have to build your own private VPN server. Re: VPS or something else
IMO no need of setting own VPS, just use dedicated IP not shared IP's, VPN.

Re: VPS or something else
COme on, ask him, or ask another friend who is in the UK. Tell them that you will pay the internet bill, as it should be fair. You will have to pay same amount of money for a VPS server. Be honest, explain to them what are you gonna do and everything will be fine. You will be amazed how cool people are. Back in the days in 2013 I had to set up my first VPN at a friend of a friends house. And at top of that his wife was at home which I didnt know at all, but it was fun experience. Be polite, bring some candy for your host, it is just basic hospitality.
