Hello,
They are betting against you with their own liquidity.

This is a very interesting observation. Wondering if it is only you, or it is a wider spread phenomenon. Maybe it is the beginning of change of character for the SharpExch.

But I don't understand the logic...just to attract more interesting customers than betfair.com? But in this way they act as bookmaker also

i think it's in their interest to make as much volume as possible.
every time we bet they earn because of the spread, no matter who wins.
then, if we lose they get our stake, if we win they pay us the win minus commission.

Greetings Arbusers!
I am reading this review, and some of the posts make me cringe.
I recently had an unpleasant situation with Sharp, with whom I worked through Sportmarket, now I am rereading the forum and came across this topic. Since everyone here is so knowledgeable and has been in the subject for years, maybe someone can answer me a simple question?
Sharp - who is that???
I go to the site and can't find any company details or license information. Is this even necessary? Has anyone else asked this question?

Hey guys, first post here - what's up?

Quick question - I'm considering moving to this platform due the liquidity restrictions (no access to international Betfair market where I live).

Thing is, for what I do I need a ladder layout and idealy some form of basic automation. I have always traded using third party software and using the grid format like on the native Betfair site would be a nightmare, to be point of not even being viable.

1. Can you use third party software (lets say for simplicities sake BetAngel) with Sharp, or is that not possible?

2. Is there some sort of native ladder view within the Sharp platform, and if not, given that this community has some sort of sway over their development, is that something that has been suggested already? IMO its compulsory to trade at a professional level and if they want to attract professionals its something they need to have.

3. Is there some sort of automation available natively within the platform? And again, if not, has there been any talk of it being added?

Thanks!

No ladder, no API, no software on white labels.

It seems to me it is a decision centrally taken from mama-Betfair not to allow softwares to work with white-labels.

Ok understood, thanks for the replies.

So, what's the possibility of speaking to the people at Sharp and seeing if its something they would consider adding natively to their platform?

I'm sure its just a matter of coding in order to display the same info in a ladder format rather than as a grid. Simple things like green out/hedge at different ticks rather than just having just a single global cash-out button like on the normal site wouldn't be too hard to code either.

If they were the only white label with such an option that would be a big selling point for people to switch to them.

It is not the white label that decides whether to add the API, but Betfair itself.

White labels only provide liquidity for Betfair (why it came to this is a separate issue), and Betfair itself processes orders and accesses global liquidity. And if Betfair does not like something (adding a white label to the API or injecting its money), Betfair will disable such a white label with one click. Therefore, the question here is purely to Betfair, not to white labels, why they decided so.
