Unfortunately, yesterday my Skrill account was closed. A really old account from 2010, but originally opened in 2008 I think. (changed currency).
https://ibb.co/NF80kNM
I have tried, followed their request sent to them everything I could - bank statements (two different), contracts, betting slips, screenshots, videos. etc. But they kept asking for impossible things in proving affordability of funds - Annual Tax form from last year. Which I can't provide just because it is not mandatory by Law, and I had not submitted last year because I did not have to. Explained to them 3 times why I don't have one. Explained to Skrill the Law with proper links to read if they are interested in details.
And the strangest thing - it seemed that I communicated with a chat/bot. For all the documents provided - I had to fill pages of explanations and then - they asked me again. And again and again. I caught them that they don't look at the documents carefully and dutifully.
The tip of the point was their request for a P and L from our local online bookmaker to proof my wins. Unfortunately for me, in my country of residence - there is no such a statement. (But there is deposit/withdraws statement, which I provided) Even if you ask the bookmakers themselves ( I did, of course) - they WILL NOT provide you such a statement for a P and L for a particular period (week/day/month etc). Yes you can see full history bet my bet, transaction by transaction up to 3 months back, but a cumulative with all wins/loses added - NO.
I even made screenshots of the communication (chat + transcript) of the chat where the bookie denies me such a statement. And Skrill completely mis-translate everything and asked me to send the forementioned statement. Again.
Yes, it is all my fault. I rushed the things that year. To soon too fast. My side hassle became a behemoth. Yes I get their point - the whole story seems ridiculous, but hey that is Life. I can't prove anything (in this very moment) beyond doubt concerning my income. Even if all payments are done via banks (rent contract, civil contract). I even went to NRA to ask for support and some kind of statement for current income for the year and they carefully told me that is not possible. NRA very easy explained to me how really things are working accounting-wise and why my request does not make any sense.
So I will be with tied hand up to 28th February 2025. Then I will have my 2024 Tax report with all my claims, payments, contracts, loans, partnerships, betting wins included in it.
And here is my question. Right now my account is restricted (not terminated) You can see from the email that I still have funds, which I can withdraw any moment. But should I? What if I don't withdraw my funds - my account will not terminated/permanently closed. Is there any difference in terms of future actions I could take?
I still think that they treatment was not just and have plans to submit official complain via mail according the INTERNAL COMPLAINTS HANDLING PROCEDURE, but not now. Having got my Tax form next year (1st march 2025) I will be able to prove beyond doubt every single word in my case.
And if needed - I will refer to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman.
So should I withdraw all my funds from Skrill and get my account terminated/closed, or leave it like that - restricted, but not permanently closed?

Re: Skrill account closed, what are next steps
I find it extremely difficult to find help in these 3rd parties. In the past we have seen much stronger and solid cases that were not supported by these parties. Your case do not look solid to me, sorry.
Thus, if you can withdraw your funds freely now with no hassle, it would be prudent to take your money in the bank.

Re: Skrill account closed, what are next steps
Did you try to find the specific reason why they have closed your account? I had a similar case with my paysafecard account recently. I did nothing wrong and therefore, I asked them to explain why they are doing this. They continued to refer to their T&C and did not give a reasonable answer. paysafe and skrill are connected. Seems this has to do with AML regulation. Things are getting more complicated, unfortunately...
I do not see any chance that they will overturn their decision. So take the money and find a different solution.

Arbusers is right - my case is not solid. I know that. That is why I don't blame Skrill, but only myself for the situation. Next year, when I have all my records at hand, I will do my best to re-open my account. Up until then I hope Fortuna will be with me and gives me less variance.
Thank for the help!

No, I am not interested. It does not matter at all.

Be careful when re-opening your Skrill account as they do keep archives for a number of years, I believe 5 or 7. Your new account will be immediately correlated to the old one and you should be in position to provide documentations and explanations.
Fortuna was the interpretation in Roman of the original ancient Greek deity of Tyche. It is great knowing the mathematics of every job, but maybe the fundamentals are born together with Tyche, then were handed to Hermes and then finished with Saint Nicholas, the patron Saint of sailors, archers, children, brewers, pawnbrokers, toymakers, unmarried people, students, repentant thieves, merchants and traders. Since arbitrage is something coined only recently, the Church did not include arbers in the list. Maybe they should.

This makes no sense to me, the account is closed for your personal data. you can be happy that you can withdraw the money and there is no point in dealing with it further.Tonton wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:30 amNo, I am not interested. It does not matter at all.
